The Hazelwood accommodated us very near to Christmas whereby other establishments were fully booked. We have stayed before and as usual we had a wonderful room, decorated beautifully. The staff are all friendly, professional and very helpful. I would highly recommend the Hazelwood.

This was a return stay for us and again we had a very comfortable time, the room was clean and warm with a good shower. The staff during the stay were helpful and even during busy breakfast service they stayed cheerful and friendly. Slightly on the pricy side for us but the big plus side is that the Hazelwood is...

We stayed at the Hazelwood for 2 nights, December 7th and 8th 2016. Location is excellent, just a short walk from city walls and shopping areas. Staff very friendly and helpful, and rooms spotlessly clean with everything you would need for a pleasant stay. We chose to include breakfast, which was fabulous. We intend to return next summer.

Quiet B&B location, yet very close to city walls easy walking access to Bootham Bar / Monk Bar. Just a short walk to York Minster. Room 4 was spotless, freshly decorated, warm, cosy and comfortable. We had everything we needed including bathrobes and extra bedding if needed. Assorted breakfast cereals, yogurt and juices along with a full English cooked breakfast...

The temperatures outside were sub-zero but it was warm and cosy at the Hazelwood. We arrived early so were able to get a parking space but be aware that you may be disappointed if you arrive late. Very high standard of decorative finish throughout the guest house and we can recommend.

Returning for our eighth year for Christmas Shopping. Still as good as ever, lovely room, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious. Sharon is the jewel in the crown of the Hazelwood-she is so warm and friendly. See you next year. Many thanks.

The staff were quite cold, and hard to find when I needed some assistance. No one about the place. Feels empty and a bit gloomy. Corners cut with decor, lack of attention to cleanliness. It does not feel like they want to run a b&b, just have to. Would not recommend.

We stayed at the Hazelwood for 2 nights in September and were very pleased. It is within walking distance to the Minster and the rest of the sights as well as to restaurants and a grocery store, yet it is on a quiet residential street away from all the noise. An added advantage for us was the availability of parking...
