Mama's Inn Boutique Guest House is situated on the northern fringe of Nottingham city center fronting Mansfield Road and backing onto Huntington Street (A 60). The Guest House is excellently located to a wide array of shops and amenities including the Victoria Shopping center. Mama's Inn occupies two Victorian villas that were originally built around 1845 by Royal Charter to King Edward VI, and formed part of the 15th century Bridge Estate. Close by is the Forest Recreation Ground (Goose Fair Site) with facilities that include a children's play area, all weather football pitches, bowling greens and outdoor gym and designated leisure walks. The building retains many of their attractive original features with high ceilings and generous room sizes. Our contemporary boutique guest house with its chic themed rooms creates a unique atmosphere of famous magnificent cities: New York, London, Paris, Casablanca, Tokyo, Vienna and Venice. Each room has its own unique character. No expense has been spared to give to our guests the ultimate and unforgettable experience. Opulent decor and special attention to details makes our guest house the perfect hideaway right in the heart of a busy city. The contemporary bathrooms, big soft bathrobes and complimentary slippers are provided for your comfort. Go to sleep in the luxurious cotton or silk bed linen to ensure the perfect unbroken sleep. Wake up to nutritious, freshly prepared breakfasts cooked to your taste with your choice of drinks. If booked in advance you can enjoy a home prepared meal. Casablanca Room Casablanca room is full of Moroccan charm. Inspired by the vibrant colors and shapes of Morocco the room has been designed with romance in mind and would be honeymooners' favorite. Its Middle Eastern interior includes highest quality hand-picked Moroccan furnishings, drapes, jewel lamps that casts soft shadows throughout the room, distinctive Moroccan mirrors and luxury 4 half-poster bed. This colorful room also features a specially designed by its owner a magnificent tented wardrobe that helps to transform the whole room into a lavish desert Bedouin tent. There is a flat screen TV with Free view, hair dryer and hot beverage facility. Paris Room Paris room is our largest and the most magnificent room. We decorated it with some authentic furniture bought in France but majority of the interior pieces were found during treasure hunt to create that truly Parisian air. Big floor-to-ceiling windows, wall size mural with Parisian symbol, Eifel Tower, luxurious 4-poster Chateau style bed create a unique atmosphere of one the most beautiful cities in the world. The impressive bed itself could be the focal point of this bedroom and hopefully will make your night more special. Tokyo Room This room is so amazing that has to be seen to be believed! Inspired by Tokyo, one of the world's most beautiful and intriguing cities with an incredibly diverse culture, this room is furnished with ethnic mother of pearl furniture which adds exoticness and tranquillity at the same time. Mixing a huge wall mural depicting a flower, low oriental beds together with a pair a mother of pearl inlay bedside tables we created a tantalizing mix of modern and vintage deco. Tokyo Room Inspired by Tokyo this room is furnished with ethnic mother of pearl furniture which adds exoticness and tranquility at the same time. A huge wall mural depicting a flower next to low oriental beds created a tantalizing mix of modern and vintage deco. Venice Room Venice Room is our most ostentatious one. Its deco is inspired by a fairy-tale of city's canals, breathtaking architecture, gondola rides and walks over narrow bridges. The main colors of this room are gold and red which are crucial to a Venetian style. The room's interior includes ornate gilded double bed, red sparkling chandelier, gold-leafed bedside tables and energizing wall mural which depicts dazzling scene of this unique city-island. Even if you have never been to Venice the room will give you a real feel for this amazing place and desire to visit it one day. Vienna Room Vienna Room named after Austrian capital is located on the top, most quiet floor of the building. Its interior style reflects an imperial grandeur of this city of music, dreams and love. The grand baroque inspired furniture, mirror, wall clock; all in black and gold, creates a certain nostalgic regal air. Life is made up of small moments that should be embraced. The grace and beauty of our Vienna room can be the perfect backdrop to capture those moments and memories. New York Room Our guests will appreciate the user-friendly, trinket-free New York room decorated in loft style with its clean lines and industrial furniture that create airy classic city look. It is a large triple room on a second floor of the house. Chose to stay here with your friends or family and wake up looking through a window of New York's apartment thanks to a massive wall mural depicting this dazzling city. London Room This twin room is so vibrant and spacious. It is unlike anything you have seen before. The colors of this room are dictated by Union Jack and a famous telephone booth. In fact you have a real size telephone booth wardrobe, small version of it as a bedside table and a telephone booth wall size mural showcasing famous London's landmark. If given one night and a ticket to anywhere, what would you pack? We say, just bring yourself! Tuck your frame under soft duvets covers depicting scenes of London and gear up to dream about whatever your imagination desires. Greeted by freshly made breakfast in the morning, you'll feel well rested and ready for the day ahead.

I stayed in the St Petersberg room, which is absolutely gorgeous! Very comfortable bed, nice deep bath, lovely decor. I didn't get to try any food here as I was meeting a friend for breakfast elsewhere, but the food smelled yummy so next time I'll have to sample it. Marina is very friendly and helpful, as too was David. Their dog Bertie is super cute! The only very small negative was that I was unable to leave my bags there, which were rather heavy, when I went to meet my friend for breakfast. Checkout time is usually 11am but the hosts were going away for a few days, so needed to get away that day. Other than that my stay was perfect! Thank you Marina & David

Me and my husband stayed here, it was our first time away without the kids for a few years. We were really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint! The place is absolutely gorgeous, it’s like a hidden gem! The owners were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was to much trouble! I couldn’t recommend the breakfast highly enough- it was gorgeous and all home cooked, with a huge selection of breakfasts from round the world. The place is clean, quiet and the decor is brilliant. I would have loved to spend a few hours nosing around the whole place. Thank you David and marina for a lovely stay!

Very friendly helpful couple. Easy relaxed arrival and departure. Great style and attention to detail in the rooms. Some excellent personal touches. An astounding array of breakfast choices and our Normandy Tartiflette and Israeli Chakshuka were so delicious. Thanks for the advice on how to recreate the former. Ill certainly be doing that! Also loved the humour in the rooms guide and generally. Can't recommend this hotel highly enough

My family of five found a comfortable friendly environment at Mama’s Inn. They were able to accommodate us all in one room (the Loft), which made our one night easier to manage. Breakfast in the morning, for which there was a wide and diverse menu of choices, was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Conversation with the hosts was friendly, helpful, and fun. All this in a location close to the city center.

I had primarily chosen Mama's Inn Boutique Guest House for its location (within easy walking distance of the theatre and shops), availability of onsite parking, and because I was looking for a place with character, and Mama's Inn certainly has plenty of that! I instantly felt welcome by Marina and David, who are excellent hosts, especially considering that when they opened the place, they'd had no prior experience running a Guest House. It certainly doesn't show, as they do everything they can to make their guests feel at home, and they're doing a very good job with that! Each room comes with its own theme and is individually decorated. I had booked room "Venice", which turned out to be very much on the small side, especially as I was travelling from overseas with a large suitcase. Thankfully I was able to store it underneath the bed, which certainly helped. Nevertheless, getting around in the small room proved to be a bit of a challenge. Overall, the room did deliver what it promised, as it did make me feel as if I was in the middle of Venice! The bed was comfy, and the bathroom had all the amenities needed. The breakfast room is quite something, practically oozing with character! The full English that David prepared was presented in a very nice way, different from the "usual". I liked the fruit that he served while I was waiting for the cooked breakfast. A very nice touch! What made my stay even more enjoyable were the interesting conversations I had with Marina. I only wish I had had more time to chat with her! Location is excellent. A short walk along the main street, and one finds oneself in the busy centre of Nottingham. Should I travel to Nottingham again in the foreesable future, there is no doubt of where I will stay!

Had a lovely greeting from David when we arrived which was great, although he didn’t really give us a lot of information - just said to look through the guest book in the bedroom. First thing we noticed was that we were charged £10 for parking despite the guest book saying the charge was £7 and a sign on the wall in the hotel saying £5. The room itself was ok but not very clean - hairs and dust in bath and water marks in shower and on towel rail. Dirt on soap holder, half used hand gel to use as bath gel! I had to wake David up in the night as I forgot my front door key when I went out - despite apologising profusely David was not very accommodating to us during breakfast which was awkward and not very professional. I’ve been wanting to visit here for ages but was disappointed and will not be returning.

Stayed here for 1 night in the Paris room. We had a brilliant time. Room- the room was great with a lovely 4 poster bed. Bath and double shower . Nice little touches like bottles of water in the room and dressing gowns. Decent size room. Thought it was great. Food - breakfast was amazing this morning. I had a cakes and bacon and my wife had full English gluten free. Both plates cleared. Owners - Really friendly and we had a couple of nice chats with the owners. We put the world to right with marina over breakfast. If there were any issues I’m sure they would sort. We will definitely be back and will have to try a different room next time. Only 10 min walk into town !!

We were staying just one night as we were going to a gig in town. We booked the ‘Venice’ room and wow! What a surprise! The whole house is beautifully decorated to give a unique & decadent feel. Marina and David are wonderful hosts. Our room was exceptionally clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable. We booked breakfast too - this is great value for money and you won’t find a more opulent venue for it! This was our first stay but it won’t be our last - Mama’s Inn will be our first choice when staying in Nottingham from now on.

This guest house was one of the worst places we’ve stayed at in a long time. We were in the “Cairo” room. It lacked all class and worse yet, there was beard hair in the sink from a previous guest. The internet didn’t work, room was tiny, and the towels lacked all fluff. Don’t waste your money!!

Response from M Peshchanitsky, Owner at Mama's Inn Boutique Guest House

Dear guests We have received your review. Here is our and response regarding all unsatisfactory points you mentioned in it for the benefit of all our future guests. 1. Size really matters. Our rooms' sizes are clearly advertised on our website and on our partners' platforms. We have executive rooms with large beds, sitting rooms and big bathrooms and small ones. The choice which is reflected in price was yours. A hard-core carnivore who ordered in a restaurant a leafy salad instead of a juicy steak cannot complain he didn't enjoy the meal. Someone who prefers opera doesn't go to a rock concert to lament about wasted time later and write an unfair review to score the point. 2. ''Class' in interior as in everything else is a a very subjective matter. We, for example, perceive it as a total lack of class when guests leave without as much as saying 'good bye'. That is undisputed class-less behavior. 3. 'Beard hair in the sink'? Sorry for your find, we obviously missed it. 4. Internet did work as we were using it constantly. And we would definitely help you with the problem but you never mentioned this to us. 5. Fluff-less towels! That is really something we shall add. The more fluff - the better. Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Our solace sometimes is found in a Serenity Prayer. 'God, grant us a serenity to love all the guests coming through our doors, strength to change things we can for them and wisdom to accept the fact that we cannot please everyone. We wish you luck in your travels. Regards Marina and David

Me and my fiancé loved our stay. Great, easy to get to, central location with wonderfully unique decor (we stayed in the Casablanca room) and a delicious breakfast. What more could you want? Very happy customers :)
