The place was beautiful. Like stepping back into the past. Wooden timber beams, a warm welcoming open fire. The food was amazing and surprisingly cheap. The room itself was sweet, a welcoming mix of the past and modern. The people who worked there were so helpful and really friendly. Will definitely go again as there are such wonderful places to...

Really enjoyed a 3 night stay in room 6 in the attic with amazing views over the local countryside. Outstanding breakfast menu , try the fruit salad. Great dinner menu too with lots of choice, never disappointed. Staff were friendly and attentive. Cosy and warm with an open fire in the traditional bar and lots of ales on tap. Great...

We'd heard about this pub and decided to make the journey to see it for ourselves. A lovely quirky English pub. We waited for a table and got chatting to some of the locals - interesting characters with stories to tell which added to our experience. The choice of real ales was quite limited, there's so many good local ones...

Me and my partner stayed here back in February for our anniversary and after feeling out of our comfort zone to start with, we soon settled in and had a very pleasant stay. It had come on recommendation from family members who had stayed here before, but not for quite a few years. When we arrived the actual pub area...

This is a quintessential English pub, but it is needing some investment in several areas. We understand there has been recent staff ( including management changes) , when we arrived last Friday the young man at the bar was perfectly welcoming and accompanied us to our two rooms. The young lady who served us at dinner was friendly and efficient....

We arrived at lunchtime, knowing we could book in anytime, with room available at 2.00 pm, so hoped to order a simple sandwich lunch after a very long drive - no bar food available as the restaurant was booked!! We left there and went for lunch elsewhere returning at 5.30 pm. Our "double room" - room 3 - was only...

Stayed here for our 11th anniversary just after Valentines. Had wanted to come to the Falkland for a while, and it was worth the wait! Situated in the achingly beautiful village of Great Tew, the pub is one of many stunning buildings that make up the village. And it's a cracker. Our room was very nice with a window looking...

Lovely pub, nice staff, great room and very good food. Definitely recommend. We often go for romantic weekends within two hours of where we live. This is a perfect example of what we like. We will go back in the summer.
