Our son was in urgent need of Roast Beef after returning from abroad and the Old Parsonage's Restaurant couldn’t have been a better choice. The first experience was the bar, where he declared his Bloody Mary(s) to be the best ever – and he has vast experience in this area! On to the restaurant, excellent menu and wine list –...

We stay here regularly and it consistently never disappoints. Great service, great offer of a free upgrade gave us a lovely room and the library addition is very relaxing. Thoroughly enjoyable and recommended.

I did not stay here, however, my family did and I joined them for lunch and in the evening for drinks. They showed me their rooms which were beautiful and the public areas, bar, library and restaurant were superb. A very cosy bar area with log fire (gas but atmospheric) and comfortable seating. A comprehensive drinks/wine list, bar snacks and...

We had stayed here for 1 night in a standard double room. Room and hotel in general was well presented, reception staff however were unfriendly. The bed was very firm and lumpy and resulted in a very uncomfortable nights rest. Paid £8 for a ham and cheese omelette on its own plus 12.5% service charge, it came out flat and...

I am sorry to learn you did not enjoy your stay at the Old Parsonage. It does not appear you enjoyed a very representative experience. We often receive compliments on the comfort of our handmade beds and regret that you did not feel rested. I am also very surprised to hear you found reception staff to be unfriendly, not a...

Stayed there for a business meeting. While not the cheapest hotel , averaged £175 per night, it was very good and difficult to fault. The rooms whilst not large are more than adequate. The only problem I had and some of my colleagues had was that bedrooms were too hot and made for a sleepless night. I managed to switch...

Thank you very much. Pleased to hear how much you and colleagues enjoyed your stay. We do pride ourselves on our individuality and recognising our guests as such, many of whom return to us, time and again. I apologise for the rooms being too warm. The hotel is well situated, around 1 km from the city center. The building is amazing. The garden is nice. The staff is very kind. The standard rooms looked too small to me and fortuanelty I could catch a deal for a suite room since I booked a month ago before our travel. The suite room is nice. Ask for...

First of all the positives - a beautiful building, first class housekeeping and efficient, friendly staff. Our room was comfortable and well appointed with an excellent bed.Food in the restaurant is a little different and tasty and the atmosphere is unstuffy and buzzy. The negatives?Service charge on food and the already expensive wine is naughty.A bottle of wine which I can buy on...

We chose the hotel because of the free parking and location close to the city centre of Oxford. We had also seen good reviews on different sites. It is safe to say we were not disappointed. The hotel is well located and we had no issues with the parking. We arrived early and our room was not ready, but it...

We stayed between Christmas and new year for a winter break. The hotel is easy to reach and although tight had parking available. The hotel from the outside is beautiful and creates a charming first mpression. Check in was swift and welcoming. We were disappointed however when we went to our room as it was on the small side with...

Thank you for such constructive feedback and positive comments. I am happy to address these comments, for your own and others reassurance. We offer a variety of room categories, with classic doubles being modestly sized. Mindful of this, we created our relaxing and comfortable residents' library. The bar is very popular and affords additional seating. Being such a popular destination...

The old parsonage is great. The hotel is a short walk from the main sights in Oxford. It is really cosy and comfortable inside. The best part of the hotel, for me, was the private library - it's a really nice area to read a book and relax. The hotel provided a free walking tour which was brilliant. Overall our...
