Galaxie is not a hotel as such, but hotel-like bed & breakfast. It's 20-30 minutes walk to the city centre. There is no normal hotel services like the bar or a restaurant (restaurant was only open for breakfast). Room was ok, but there was no air-conditioning.

The hotel is conveniently located on a major street not too far from the City Centre and the colleges. Not only is it easy to find, there are a number of diverse eating places in the immediate vicinity. If you are driving, be aware that off-street parking is limited and not easy to access in a large vehicle. Rooms are...

I have used The Galaxie frequently during my time studying part-time at Oxford as a mature student. They have looked after me beautifully. Nothing is too much trouble, and the staff are such nice people. The rooms are beautifully appointed, with great attention to detail. The breakfast room is charming and the breakfast excellent, with so much choice. The garden...

I've returned from a 1 night stay in Oxford. The Galaxie is a newly refurbished guest house/ hotel, with a breakfast room, parking area and varied, very attractive outdoor space. It is close enough to Oxford city centre to be convenient - 5 min bus ride from just outside, whilst being 10 mins drive from the ring road. I received...

Nice hotel, which with a few small tweaks would take a big jump up in quality. Would rate 3.5 stars if TripAdvisor allowed. Rooms nicely decorated and well appointed - some have fridge/ kitchenette (three rooms in our party). Showers low pressure. Good selection for breakfast in a nice setting. Good location. Walkable into town but simple enough to hope...

It is in Oxford, it is well placed and is £90, so verses the other offerings it is very good. Yes it has no permanent receptionist and no aircon in the room but rated against the local merket I would stay again, though admittedly in the height of Summer the loft room I had would be baking. Good bed and...

The Galaxie is an attractive, modern hotel, easy to find with adequate parking. The bus stop for a 10 minute journey to the centre of Oxford is just outside the door (I think the estimate on their website of a 20 minute walk to the city centre is optimistic for all but the fittest!) We had booked a twin bedded...

The hotel itself is lovely- newly fitted out with very pleasant public areas and rooms with high quality furnishings and a nice style. The staff are welcoming and pleasant, from check-in to breakfast, which is, by the way, very good indeed. Now to the downside. The bathroom is nicely furnished with high quality wares and tiling. However, there were no...

Staff friendly and the breakfast room was a delight to go to in the mornings. good valve for money and enjoyed the extra touch of having free sparkling and still water in the room. The room size with double bed was perfect. Good spacious bath room as well.
