We booked a trip for my husbands birthday through Secret Escapes and looked forward to a relaxing break ! At nearly £300 for two nights ( with an apparent 46%discount) we quite rightly assumed we were in for a treat ! The hotel reception bar area was functional, shabby and lacking in atmosphere. Our room was large and the bed...

Duncurin and party were attending a wedding in Oxford and chose the Four Pillars. This is a perfect location, set in nice, horse-filled surrounds, just out of the main hubbub of the city centre, yet just a few minutes’ walk away. Please note it’s a popular choice with lots of similarly minded people checking in for the weekend and the...

This is a four star hotel and it can be seen that at some point a lot of thought and effort went in to it. The location for Oxford is great, just a short walk along the river. However, it could be so much more. The decor is very 90's and is in dire need of an update. There was...

My husband and I travelled together with our adult daughter ( her husband was unable to come due to work commitments ) for a one night stay at Oxford which gave us two days to enjoy the many things Oxford has to offer. We arrived around 11am but booked in and were able to leave the car. There is a...

I stayed here for one night for business. It is very easy to find as on the main Abingdon road, yet set back enough to give it a country feel. Nice large rooms, very clean and friendly staff. Very good for exploring Oxford and the surrounding countryside.

We were very pleased with Room 5 on the ground floor. It had a mini fridge with complementary drinks and a large lounge. We did pay extra for a superior room and it was worth it. There was a lounge in the room with a patio door with outside seating, overlooking the garden. We had wine outside. There were hanging...

Perfectly good, functional hotel within walking distance of Oxford centre. The swimming pool is rather small, but perfectly good for a quick dip, and the long opening hours are helpful for late arrivals. Good quality bed and fittings in the room. No complaints.

For the past 12 months my husband has been having treatment for cancer, surgery to remove the tumour, drugs and then 4 weeks of radiotherapy which finished a week ago. He is still having treatment with side effects so a long distance holiday was out of the question, so, we decided on some UK short hotel breaks to recuperate. We...

Great location, lovely walk along the river before breakfast. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We were a party of four including a 90 year old and we had a great evening meal at the bar which suited all of us. Equally good breakfast with pleasant and efficient staff . Hope to return next year!
