We landed in the Victoria Hotel because it was the first one we saw as we entered Oxford, arriving late after a full day in Bath. The receptionist, who said he was a vacation replacement, was very friendly. He let us try out the wifi before signing the registration form as we had to have a good connection for our...

Arrived Sat morning 11 July for a weekend in Oxford with friends, we were able to leave our car in car park for the day and got a bus into city centre - bus stop almost outside hotel and good bus service. Room was clean, bed comfortable and the breakfast freshly cooked and very good - a nice change to...

...at a Portugese/Brazilian Cafe/Bar . The Victoria Hotel itself offers all one could hope for from a two-star hotel EXCEPT drinkable coffee and properly cooked mushrooms ( why do some hotels think it is acceptable to boil them ? ) . The water from the hot tap is CERTAINLY hot enough to make decent coffee without recourse to a kettle...

Well after reading the reviews I was a little apprehensive about staying in the Hotel. When I arrived and parked the manager was at the desk and was very polite i asked if my car was fine just outside and he said perfect. My room I could not fault it was number 16 on the ground floor all was very...

This is the only bad review I have during my two week trip to Ireland, Scotland, and England. I skimmed the other reviews briefly and feel better about leaving this review as other people had similar experiences regarding the bad service. I paid for two nights here but left after one because the staff was so rude. There was adequate...

Was greeted in the car park by the owner who before saying anything told us (aggressively) we couldn't leave 3 cars in the car park for the 2 rooms we'd payed for (fair enough) when we politely asked if there was any near by parking or streets we could park on without permits we were told "It's not my problem..."...

I wanted to book an extra night's stay in addition to the one I had booked thirty minutes earlier. I emailed three times requesting whether it would be possible to extend my stay but got no answer. I telephoned the hotel direct on Sunday and the man who answered said he had only been working there for three days so...

We booked this hotel because it was the only one in the Oxford area with a family room available at very short notice. It had a fairly good location within a 15 minute walk of the centre of town but it is on a busy road which remained noisy throughout the night. The room (26) was awkward to get in...

Travelled to Oxford over the bank holiday weekend - son was in a tournament there - we booked 2 rooms, 1 single, 1 double, room rate for Oxford was very good and included breakfast. We were pleased it was only for 1 night. First the small positives - good location as near the town, on site parking, nice walk along...
