My husband and I recently stayed at The Marlborough Arms prior to visiting Blenheim Palace. We were really impressed with Alina (apologies if this spelled incorrectly) who was extremely welcoming and efficient. Just what's needed to make a good impression on reception. Our room was large and with a most comfortable bed. Breakfast was really good with lots of lovely...

Charming old building in a lovely setting.Very helpful pleasant lady on reception who settled us in,she also looked after us for breakfast. The room was perfect also. Unfortunately they don't do evening meals as Woodstock has numerous restaurants/cafes.We went to Brotherton's which was quite disappointing.

Thank you for your kind review, we are really pleased you found The Marlborough Arms charming and that you were looked after by our receptionist. Due to the amount of very good restaurants in Woodstock, all within walking distance of us, we took the decision not to offer evening meals but to let our guests enjoy local establishments. Beautifully presented old building professionally run. The staff are very pleasant and efficient. Comfortable bed in light and airy room, we had a room overlooking the courtyard so very quiet. Excellent breakfast with a good choice. We would happily return here and would recommend it to anyone needing a comfortable place to stay in the centre of Woodstock.

I stayed here for last year's birthday and it was lovely!! The staff was very helpful and utterly sweet, when they found out it was my birthday they made a fuss about making me smile and giving me tiny tokens. The room was enormous and perfect with bath and shower and a gorgeous desk I used to sit and write...

Historic building with character. Private car park at the rear Comfy bed and quiet room. Bath and separate shower. Excellent breakfast. So convenient for visiting Oxford as the bus stops right outside the guest house and takes you to the Ashmolean where you can get a hop on hop off sightseeing bus. We also had 10% discount on our dinner...

We got this on a deal with Voyage Prive. We were a bit taken aback when we arrived as the whole front was covered in scaffolding as they were decorating. However we were given a room in the courtyard and we could not fault it - bright, clean, A fully stocked kitchenette, great shower, warm, comfortable bed and very quiet....

A one night stay in this former Coaching Inn dating back to the 15th Century blended so well with the pretty village of Woodstock, very close to Blenheim Palace. Our greeting at reception was warm and friendly. The room - we were upgraded to a larger one - was well appointed with a bend of authentic age and modern amenities....

We stayed for one night on an offer which gave us a bottle of prosecco and delicious cream tea. Lovely to enjoy our drinks by a log fire (still chilly in April). Our welcome was friendly and very attentive. The room was well decorated and the bed particularly comfortable. We did have a room at the front of the hotel,...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Marlborough Arms is a beautiful 15th century coaching inn, situated in the heart of Woodstock, overlooking historical streets and offers Bed and Breakfast. Whilst guests can enjoy the tranquillity of the surroundings they still have good links to the M40. The hotel has been elegantly finished in a classic style in-keeping with the character of the building and surrounding area, with contemporary touches throughout. Guests can also take advantage of the inn's own car park located directly behind the property. Each of the thirteen luxurious en-suite bedrooms are all individually themed with a focus on comfort and relaxation. All rooms differ in shape, size and style, ranging from the Cobalt Room, which is situated overlooking the courtyard which has a contemporary feel with beautiful sensuous fabrics and natural morning light, through to the Sepia Room, which is a very large room with a striking interior of deep greys and gentle soft tones, set off with modern lamps and cushions. All of the rooms have flat screen televisions, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdriers, irons and ironing boards. Some have baths, some large walk-in showers and some rooms are equipped with both! ... more   less
