I checked in to this hotel with trepidation as there are mixed reviews, needless to say that for what I paid (£59.00 a night) I got what I paid for and was not disappointed. The service upon arrival and the speed of check in was good (there was five of us in separate rooms) and when I got to the... More

Not on the same level/standard as some mainstream hotel chains but perfectly acceptable. In the centre of Reading it has the whole city on its doorstep, very nice shopping centre and cinema with river and a selection of eateries with inside and outside seating. The hotel has its own Indian Resturant called the Royal Tandoori and serves a really good... More

Having read some reviews complaining it was noisy, I paid £20 extra for a superior quiet room, and it certainly was quiet (apart from a few creaking floorboards in my room!). Furnishings OK except the bed valance looked to have a blood stain on it. Bathroom also reasonable, with over bath shower. The only potential problem is breakfast, which was... More

Third review of this facility for lunch. Gets better each time. Great meal with roast pork as a main course. Well cooked and presented . Good portions and vegetables. Service efficient and an all round pleasant experience

The room is tiny and very basic. There is no room to turn around in the bathroom and, terribly, there was a huge foot mark on the bath towel. Hygiene is very doubtful and concerned in this hotel. Staff attitude is unacceptable as well. Breakfast time is until half nine as I remember. I went in 15 minutes before closing... More

I was working in Reading and the office put me here for a couple of nights. Yes there is a slight odour of Asian food - personally I love a good curry so was not bothered in the slightest. The staff were really helpful and very friendly, the food is excellent and the location is pretty good (a couple of... More

Stayed here for five nights whilst working in Reading. Public areas were pleasant enough. 2nd floor room at rear of hotel had uncomfortable twin beds which were narrow and very uncomfortable. WiFi was very slow, continually dropping out and needed resetting daily with a new code, had to give up most nights and use my mobile WiFi. The bathroom was... More

The hotel boasts it has a carpark and also an overspill carpark and that parking won't be a problem, yet it very much was. We arrived around 9pm and both car parks were full but only hold about a dozen cars each anyway. We were then faced with being stuck without parking at 9pm on a Friday night with our... More

Well positioned hotel on a quiet street . Warm welcome by helpful staff. Lovely aroma from the Indian restaurant that was part of the hotel. Room was clean, functional , nice bed and a great shower. It was a bit warm and stuffy in the room but ,having not looked till the morning ,we missed the air conditioning unit!! Breakfast... More

We attended a conference at the hotel and found locating it easy however missed the car park and had to go back via the one way system. The car park is very small and there is a pay and display opposite but this is expensive. We had special parking for this car park otherwise it would have cost and arm... More
