The Briary is in a quiet location about 7 minutes ride in a taxi and it is situated on a beautiful road. The landlord, Sal was an excellent host and had been in communication prior to my arrival which was a nice hospitable gesture. The decor in the Briary is lovey and traditional and I was made to feel very...

We stayed for 1 night as we were in Sheffield for a birthday party. The owners are very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was lovely. The rooms are dated but clean although it was quite cold. We would stay there again.

We had a pleasant stay at the Briary Hotel, which was particularly convenient for us, as we were visiting family in the area. It is a period hotel, so not in the modern, contemporary style, but it has all the amenities required. We always try to be fair with reviews and certainly the en suite room we occupied was clean,...

Owner very friendly, great customer service. Quiet, leafy area, close enough to both town centre and the beautiful surrounding countryside to be very convenient for both. Comfortable, clean room, wifi good enough for watching Netflix. Definitely not smart or luxurious, hence only 4/5 rating, (and to be fair, it is priced accordingly) but the helpful, friendly service makes up for...

To start on a positive note the owners were super-helpful as I was lost and late and they did their best for me. Sadly the rest was slightly worse than mediocre. The house smelt musty and damp, and the conversion from a big house into small bedrooms was shoddily done. There were insufficient electric sockets so an adapter was cable-pinned...

The briary is a beautiful old house set in lovely gardens. It is in a quiet spot with plenty of safe parking. The room was warm and cosy with the benefit of an en suite bathroom and plenty of tea and coffee supplies. The owner made us feel very welcome and prepared a nice breakfast in the morning. Will definitely...

Having booked 3 rooms at this hotel for six of us to attend a nearby function, two were barely adequate, very very dated, tired, musty and desperately in need of a lick of paint! The third room, we were told, was unavailable and we were put in The Lindum Hotel in another street (owned by the owner of the Briary!)....

I stayed in single room one night for school reunion. Bed is double, even though single room. Very spacious and comfortable. Big tv, lovely en-suite with great hot shower. All very clean. Quiet neighbourhood. Owners very friendly and welcoming. Excellent full breakfast and tea and coffee in the room. At £39 for one night, I was very pleased. I usually...

Although not luxury accommodation, this guest house is clean, the breakfast is good and the owner is very helpful with recommendations for evening meals. The location in Sheffield is very convenient for anywhere in the Peak District- only 11 miles from Chatsworth! We enjoyed our 3 nights very much.
