Lovely room which had everything we needed. The staff were all very friendly. We didn't sleep well due to traffic noise outside which needs to be addressed. Breakfast was very nice but didn't come with black pudding or runny egg but it was nice and the cook was very attentive and bubbly. Would definitely stay again in the windows are...

We had a very warm friendly welcome. The owner offered up her own parking spot but we were happy parking on the road which is free anyway. The location is great, very near town, following the river down to town, passing Shrewsbury Library and Castle. Our room is on 2nd floor with fairly steep stairs, which is fine with us,...

The room was spotless along with the decor, really lovely b&b . Really great location so town is within quick walking distance. Would recommend and stay again. Lovely breakfast too, the best I've had at a B&B, lovely to have a menu to choose from and offered veggie sausage too!

I spent two nights here during a recent football-watching trip to the UK. Sydney House is a small family-run hotel or B&B. My single room was quite small, but it was clean and quiet. With the exception of the coffee that was served, the English breakfast included in the price was excellent. Wifi also worked excellent for me.

Thank you for your positive assessment of Sydney House. Your not the first to question our coffee recently so we have gone back to a coffee thats more mid range. We have two single rooms of which one is small. We however do charge a rate which I believe cannot be beaten in Shrewsbury for a single en-suite room. It...

From arrival to checking out faultless. Everyone friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Having not been to Shrewsbury before we were advised on attractions/activities, places to eat etc. Hotel walking distance to town centre (5 mins) alongside the river. Amazing breakfasts with loads to choose from. Bedroom lovely, plenty of towels and toiletries.Tea making facilities, biscuits. Loved the...

A great guest house with very nice owner and staff. There are 5/6 parking places, 6 if one car is in front of the other. Your breakfast is big. About 8 cereals to choose from and 3fruits. It's decor maybe slightly dated but it's clean and all amenities are there. It's about 10 mins walk, initially down a not too...

Thank you for your comprehensive review. We have actually got seven parking spaces and an eighth when needed. Great advice given with regards flagging up in advance the needed for limited stairs, quietness and booking taxi's in advance. We will be extended our mini bar in the near future. We like to keep decorations in tune with the period the...

Another Jewel in the crown for us as we were visiting the West Midlands Showground, which we find out is at the bottom of the road. There is private parking and on road parking. Dogs allowed. Rooms are varying sizes hence the varying prices. Rooms are clean, tidy, all with flat screen TVs and fresh bedding, tea & coffee facilities...

Stayed here last night in one of their twin rooms. It is a nice clean comfortable B&B/Hotel. Plenty of choice for breakfast and off street parking for 4 vehicles. Sydney House is located 10 minutes walk to town.

I found this to be a nice little hotel in a great spot for the town at a good price. Although a little dated it was clean with all the facilities I needed. Noise from traffic wasn't a problem as an extra layer of glazing had been put in and I try not to travel without ear plugs. Staff were...

We chose Sydney House because it seemed really good value for accommodation close to the centre with its own parking. We weren't disappointed. The room was clean and comfortable being a triple (for just two of us) with a large bathroom. Some features, especially in the bathroom, were a bit dated, but it all functioned OK. We'd ask for a...
