Staff were 100%, chatty and helpful and we even got serenaded at the table by the lovely Nicky Fleet. Apparently the superiors don’t like it but they morons because she’s just spreading cheer. The little girl next booth loved it too. Very recommended
£75 for a room in which we couldn't think about sleeping until all the noise in the beer garden subsided about 3am.£15 parking for a 1 night stay .Food and drink OK but stay ruined by noise .Security should move on the drinkers 20 minutes after 1.20am to give people in hotel rooms a chance of a sleep
Stayed in room 101 The view out of the windows was of extraction ducts and associated air conditioning units within a couple of feet from the windows . They put up secondary sliding glazing units for the noise that only partially cut down the droning sound and in the bedroom opaque transfers to obscure the horrific view. Asked reception on the day of check in if another room was available but they said not on that day but we could enquire the next day etc. We did not request a further room change because we had already unpacked suitcases and my partner said we only had one more night to stay etc. The only thing I can say is that they provided a fan for the room , because you could not get any sleep with the window open because of the constant droning sound of the extraction system . Can say that the staff and food and service from the bar was excellent without any undue wait. But will not go back in case we are allocated that room once more.…
Very efficient, friendly lady at check in - very decent room and lovely, clean bathroom with everything needed in the room itself, including a fan which was a nice touch. All good until around midnight both nights when the crowds started gathering at the burger shop right outside our bedroom window. We had laughing, singing, shouting, crying, even a fight at one point. this went on until 4.20 in the morning! My advice to anyone staying here is to avoid room 109 at all costs if you want a decent nights sleep. Shrewsbury itself is a lovely place, beautiful river walks and some lovely places to eat and drink. I would definitely return, and even to this hotel but would request a room on the other side.
Enjoyed our first stay in a Wetherspoons Hotel. Efficient check in, helpful staff on reception and Hotel very convenient for the centre of Shrewsbury. Would have liked parking but appreciate that car park is currently being used for outdoor seating to assist with Covid measures. Bed was comfy, decent shower, the only issue we had was that we could not get any ventilation into the room as unable to open any windows so got a little warm in there. Enjoyed breakfast in Spoons both mornings, no complaints, good value.
