Detailed Reviews
My wife and I have just returned home after a pleasant 4 night stay at Oxon Hall Touring Park in our caravan. We have stayed here many times, and this time we wanted to see how everything was after the recent lockdown. The site was quite full with very few vacant pitches, but all the site facilities were open, and seemed to work fine. We went for a shower at about 7am every day and the shower block was empty and clean. The whole site is very well maintained and quiet. We had a Super Pitch in the Adults area which was nice and spacious and peaceful. The nearby Coop store, the Chippy, and the Chinese takeaway were all open, but the Oxon Priory pub is closed. The Ego Restaurant at the Grapes reopened on the last night we were there and the meal we had was very nice. Big negative on this stay is the nearby Oxon Park & Ride remains closed, with no indication of when or if it will reopen. The number 11 bus does run into Town via the Hospital every half hour but at £8.80 return for the two of us, is much more expensive than the P&R, and much more expensive than a full day parking in the Town. But overall we enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

What a lovely site! We booked for 4 nights but wish we’d booked for longer. Site was so well kept with a lovely lay out.
Staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble
Facilities were spotless and COVID guidance is followed meticulously
Lovely large roomy pitches. Spent time just sitting and watching all the lovely rabbits running around the vans so lovely
Highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit
Well done and thank you

We had heard a lot about the Morris Leisure sites but had never been to one. Our stay in Oxon was as good if not better than we hoped for.
The site is a well organised site from the personnel in the reception through to the very clean toilet and shower block.
Immediately outside the Oxon Touring park which has good hardstanding elec pitches and good recycling areas there is a Park and ride transport into Shrewsbury ( a 15 min run to the town centre ). Cost is £1 for a pensioner with a bus pass and £2 for everyone else. Runs every 20 mins.
There are easy bike rides into Shrewsbury too.
For my wife and I this site ticks all the boxes,
From a nice good looking site with a chippy and supermarket outside and a Pub that serves decent food.
The location as its close to Shrewsbury is great.
Finally this might of been our first visit but it certainly won't be our last.👍👍🚐🚐

We stayed as a family in August- first the pluses ; great location for touring Shropshire attractions and Wales, brilliant to have coop and takeaways 5 mins walk, great pitch we stayed for 7 nights so this was appreciated, hot showers and on the outside looks like a clean and well maintained sight. Big minuses - really dirty ladies toilets and definitely not deep cleaned , ridiculous key system to enter, made to feel unwelcome, agree with another reviewer that staff do not appear happy to be open. This is not a 5 star campsite, I have stayed in much lower starred sites this year and they have come off miles better. It feels like they are doing us a favour to be open. Absolutely would not return

We visited this campsite with our two children and dog. The staff were very friendly and kept the grounds in excellent condition. While the campsite was at capacity, it still felt quiet and relaxed. The landscape allowed a lovely walk around the pond and lots of wildlife.
The campsite was limited to only two dishwashing sinks so only one family could be washing up at a time. This could be inconvenient at a peak time.

This is a very good site and we enjoyed our three night stay here in our Motorhome.
The facilities are of high quality throughout with a shop selling all sorts of camping equipment as well as basic food items.
Having stayed at the sister site outside Ludlow, we were disappointed that there was no gin bar or visiting food wagons. Considering the site grew busier as the weekend approached, it was quiet at all times.
A very short walk away is the Park and Ride into Shrewsbury and a large Coop, Greggs, Fish and Chip shop and a Chinese. The Park and Ride takes about 20 minutes and costs £2 or £1 if you have a Senior Citizens Pass for the return journey.
Yes, we would stay here again.

+1
We went to oxon because we could walk to the shops and take away and we had booked a meal at the grapes restaurant for new year. On arrival the christmas atmosphere started as you drove onto site booking in was easy and very friendly checking in. After setting up our van on a good sized pitch we sat and relaxed looking out at the great Christmas displays on the other caravans it felt so special. We love Morris leisure sites and the effort these put in to light up the site for Christmas was much more than we expected and we will definitely be back next year

Excellent I’m sure everyone has said everything good about it before. Location is brilliant, next to the fab park and ride, only £2 return, every 20 mins, takes 10/15 mins. Very dog friendly everywhere. 2 good pubs very close, excellent Co op store, very upmarket. Lovely Chinese takeaway. Shrewsbury is delightful. The actual site is very, clean & well maintained.

AS has been said in many reviews this campsite is an excellent location for exploring the wonderful town of Shrewsbury, which is what we did last weekend.
Tha camp site facilities were well kept and very clean.
On the downside, the park and ride wasn't operating into Shrewsbury, there just wasn't enough sanitiser stations that are common nearly everywhere and the shop was only partly ope. To purchase something you need to point to the product and then the staff would bring it to the desk. Not something that occured at the Co-Op just around the corner. Finally we all found the staff a bit stand-off-ish and too quick to tell you want you can't do and what you must do. Probably the least welcoming campsite I can recall. The site itself is grand, but probably wouldn't stay again as we were not at all welcomed.

The only negative is the fact you are allocated your pitch. We got a good spot anyway, but would have preferred to have had the option. Pub food really good and an easy walk from the site. Coop is very handy as are the takeaways. We also had an Indian Takeaway delivered to the barrier where we were waiting, “The Curry House” gets a thumbs up too - ordered through Just Eat. The site location is great for a number of excellent walks too such as Stipplestones, Church Stretton etc and also other towns such as Ludlow and Ironbridge. Bit of a faff having to use a key to use toilets and showers, we never did as we used our own onboard facilities. I’d definitely come back.

Peterborough, United Kingdom407 contributions195 helpful votesIs there a footpath through to B4380 from the site ?
Thx
Hi there. I do not believe there is or at least I am not aware of one. There is of course going the other way to the A458 and the Park & Ride.
Hi Clare, we are giving out some leaflets to all guests at the park while the Park & Ride isn't operating with some directions for an alternative bus service. There is a bus within a 10-minute walk every half an hour. Hope this helps! Thanks, Sarah
Yes it does.....
Hi Janine, we do provide summer and winter seasonal pitches at Oxon Hall however i'm afraid these have all sold out for 2017. We should have some available for 2018. If you would like to enquire about these, please feel free to give our park a call on 01743 340868! Thanks, Sarah
