Stayed here for three nights, 20min walk into Bath also a great bus service into Bath, cabs around £7. We had a large double ( comfy bed and spotless, cleaned with in an inch of its life ) with a stunning bathroom. Parking at front and rear, fast check in. Breakfast was delicious with lots of choice and a fantastic hostess.
Only issue, needs long mirror in bedroom for us vain people. Would definitely stay again.

My partner and I stayed here over new year as a base for my 40th birthday celebrations and were not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and the hotel itself was immaculate and beautifully decorated. WiFi was a good fast connection and the smart TV was great. Plenty of power points in the room. The bathroom had a lovely large rose head shower that was powerful and a large bath. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding fresh and crisp. The complimentary water in the mini fridge and chocolate on the tea tray was a nice touch. The tea tray was well stocked with a good selection of herbal and non herbal teas, coffee and biscuits.
Breakfast was very good value for money at £10 and consisted of a selection of cereals, pastries, yoghurt, toast, a combination of any full English breakfast cooked to order, eggs royal, florentine or benedict or porridge or pancakes with fresh fruit. The waiting staff were prompt and courteous.
A taxi into Bath was about £7-£8 and a bus from right outside was about £2.50 per journey. We walked into the city centre and it took us about 30 mins at a leisurely stroll.
If I were being very critical then bath sheets as opposed to the small bath towels and towelling robes would've made the stay even more special. We would definitely return to this hotel and hope to do so in the future.

Bathen House has been recently refurbished throughout and it shows : superb quality in every way, beautiful touches in the décor in bedrooms and common rooms, and an abundance of delightful floral decorations everywhere. The sumptuous ground floor lounge is a particular bonus in this age when such amenities seem hard to find. Bedrooms are equally comfortable, with a host of thoughtful and elegant touches. The welcome at reception is kind and courteous, management are ready and willing to help in any way, making even the shortest stay a pleasure. Even the breakfast menu is carefully different; the breakfast room is large and light and well up to the high standards that prevail throughout this superb house. Loads of parking, either in front or behind the house. All this splendour more than makes up for the fact that it’s a bit out of town and needs a car to get to the centre, but there’s a bus-stop within reach and there are also apparently plans to add dining facilities for guests in the near future.

Bathen house hotel, describes itself as a 5 star luxury boutique hotel, sadly this is not the case, in price only yes.
Very few members of staff about, and they are not uniformed, an honesty bar that charges top end prices that you serve yourself……. And also wrong size measures for some products.
Room 7 roughly as described but bathroom extraction fan does not come on with the lights… (building regulations) floor super slippery when wet, in a luxury hotel you would expect under floor heating, shower door does not shut, nasty stain on bathroom ceiling, as you might expect a heated mirror, sadly not.
No wardrobe only shelves and open hanging space.
No full length mirror in bedroom, far too many lights, curtains didn’t shut and these were on a cheap rail and curtains tended to come off at the ends,
In the hotel far too many fake plastic flowers, real ones would be nice especially in a luxury hotel, no newspapers in the lounge, in fact these weren’t offered at check in either along with an alarm call. No lifts as you would expect even in a 3 star hotel, there was a lift but this is now utilised by housekeeping as storage cupboards.
Housekeeping Staff not wearing masks when entering room, and no member of staff or duty manager resident overnight.

Can forgive the noise as old building but during renovations sound proofing underlay should have been used.

No room service menu and no offer of breakfast in the room.

Breakfast, the continental side is good, the cooked side okay except for the traditional English breakfast, sausages terrible packed with fat & gristle, the moment you cut into the sausage the fat sprays out, bacon always over cooked and exceptionally salty, black pudding 1/2 piece, 1/2 tomato could they spare it. And condiments and sauces in sachets.

Mini bar, nice touch but poorly executed, the cheapest of cash & carry water, not Bath spring water as you might expect from a boutique hotel, soft drinks fine.
Room snacks, haribos, skittles and a Kit Kat, surely some homemade fudge and homemade biscuits would have been nicer especially in a luxury boutique hotel.

Just returned from a three night stay at this stunning hotel. My brother and sister in law had one of two suites which was huge in size and beautiful decorated and the bath in the room was quite unique. We informed the hotel it was my sister in law’s 50th birthday and they left petals on the bed and balloons in the room which was a nice touch. My wife and I had a normal room which was still fabulous. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive to all our needs. The hotel was spotlessly clean with excellent parking on site. Although the hotel was a good 20-30 minute walk from the city centre you can walk through a beautiful park which will help burn off the wonderful breakfast especially the full English, or a cab is approximately £8-£10. Overall this was a fantastic stay in a stunning hotel in a great town.

We stayed at Bathen house on Feb 29th 2020. We were due to stay over xmas but our daughter broke her elbow meaning we were unable to come. Mike was super and very happy to let us re-book. We were very excited about our stay and it didnt disappoint. A splendid 5*. Absolutely a delightful place. We stayed in a luxury suite but all the rooms and reception rooms, dining hall were tastefully done to a very high standard. Easy to see why Bathen House has 5*. Friendly staff who really are super and go above and beyond. They make you feel like friends. The dinner we had was splendid, we've had fine dining before but this was a cut above. How all the flavours came together was purely sensational. From the seared Scallops for starters to the Monkfish and lamb cutlets and creme brulee. This place even if you just stop for dinner is so worth the visit. We really cant stress how good Bathen house is. A real treat and a rare find. The restaurant is in its infancy but what they have created in this time is nothing but the start of what we hope is very successful for Bathen house and the wonderful team. We will certainly be back to enjoy this and hopefully sooner rather than later. It really is that good.

We stayed at Bathen House for an October half term getaway. My partner and I thought the hotel was just amazing. Our room (the Deluxe King) was more beautiful than we expected; it was modern, classy, the bathroom was just outstanding and the complimentary snacks / Netflix offer was fab! The hotel staff (big shout out to Francesca) were always so friendly and welcoming. We got engaged at the the hotel and the effort Francesca went into organising our room made it extra special, so a big big thank you. We have a wonderful memory to treasure. The hotel was around an 8-10 minute taxi ride into Bath City Centre (the taxi company the hotel give you have an app you can use so it made it really easy to pre-book and use cashless payments). We also used the bus once which stopped right outside the hotel (around £4 for a return trip to Bath City Centre).
Tip; choose to have the breakfast - the Traditional Breakfast OR the Waffles with Nutella and Banana were to die for!

We can’t wait to be back! X

Our stay at Bathen house was faultless. It is clear to see thought and effort has been put into making our stay as enjoyable as possible. From the make up removal face towels, to the free snacks and soft drinks in the mini bar and the beautiful free standing bath made this trip even more pleasurable. Nicola was extremely helpful throughout our stay. She was a very welcoming host and was always willing to go that extra mile. It’s the little touches that make a huge difference! Thanks Bathen house -we shall defo be returning! Defo recommend the executive suite!!

Bathen House is an absolute dream. A lovely clean hotel where we were looked after extremely well by very polite staff.

The room was spotless, brightly lit with beautiful decor. I loved the lighting in the bathroom where putting on make up was not having to squint into a dim mirror:)

The location is great too. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that takes you into the city centre, so you can leave your car at the hotel . Although, after indulging in a heavy meal in Bath City Cente, the 30 minute walk back to the hotel on a lovely warm evening was enjoyable.

The hotel has one of the freshest, best breakfast we've had for quite a while.

Stayed here in February for one night with my wife. We were so impressed we decided to book again shortly after for a two night stay in June. The hotel subsequently took the payment out of my account ok no problem. Unfortunately we had to cancel quite quickly thereafter due to unforeseen circumstances. I cancelled through booking.com and was told there would be “no cancellation fee”, what it failed to point out is that I would be receiving no refund whatsoever.
I contacted the hotel twice by email to query, neither of which has the hotel replied to. You know the hotel will easily re let the rooms in June. I expected to have to pay a cancellation fee, but to forfeit the whole booking and ignore my queries leaves a sour taste.
So be aware when booking with this hotel that cancellation can prove to be very expensive.

Hi. Thanks for choosing to book with us! We would of course recommend our lovely in-house restaurant Bouvardia, which serves great fresh dishes using locally sourced ingredients. However we are more than happy to recommend other venues nearby, feel free to get in touch with us directly and we will help you out!

Hi. As of 2 weeks ago we have a small but perfectly formed drinks list available. Wines to local ciders and cognac to rosé lemonade. Hopefully we’ll see you again. 😊
