Hotel's Favourite
We stayed here for a weekend and, having trawled the details of several hotels in Bath , I know we picked the most beautiful! The Georgian building is on one of Bath’s famously handsome streets, within easy walking distance of the city’s famous sites, yet it is also very quiet. The staff at the hotel are amazing- so friendly and helpful. Without exception, everyone was cheerful, attentive (without being oppressive) and unfailingly charming. We had 2 rooms next to each other - one a superior double and the other a vast room with a four poster bed (The Athol Suite). So beautiful I could happily have moved in permanently!! If you are planning on spending time in Bath, you should have Dukes firmly at the top of your list. You won’t be disappointed.

Dukes setting is ideal, it is situated in the most stunning street of Bath, it’s almost like stepping back to Georgian England. The hotel is lovely, warm and friendly. The staff were very helpful and the parking permit very necessary in what is normally a very busy city, and very welcome in not so busy Covid hit town. We had a very comfortable and pretty room on the second floor, comfy warm beds and small but clean bathroom. The breakfast was very well cooked and of good quality, sausage and black pudding very fine indeed. We didn’t use the bar or pretty courtyard garden, it was 0 degrees, but I would imagine very pleasant in warmer times. I would definitely recommend this fine hotel, it takes 5 minutes to walk to the centre of Bath, and is very easy to find. Thank you for a lovely nights stay.

We've just returned from a two night stay at this lovely Georgian property. Our first visit. We were impressed with the Covid measures, cleanliness, staff, breakfast and location, 7 mins walk to the centre. This is not a contemporarily designed property, it's furnishings and decor suit the Georgian era and therefore the style and age of the house, it's a Grade 1 listed building. I'm a very light sleeper so asked for a room in a quiet location, we were at the side in Rutland on the second floor, there was some early morning traffic noise with the windows open so we had to close them. We also had two very good meals in Hudson's Steakhouse and Clayton's Kitchen, the later being our favourite. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at Dukes again and highly recommend it.
