The Kennard is truly a wonderful Bed & Breakfast. It is ideally situated on a residential street, just a short walk to many of Bath's historic sites. The hotel's manager, Johnny, was very kind and thoughtful. He ensured that every aspect of our stay was just perfect. Breakfasts at the Kennard are truly memorable consisting of a self service buffet of fruit, yogurt, juices, etc and a menu of exceptional entrees that are prepared to order. Our room had ornate moldings and 12 foot ceilings and was elegantly decorated. Although it faced the street, we were able to sleep very comfortably with our windows open and minimal noise. The bathroom was small; but, recently renovated. The bathroom sink was actually located in the bedroom which may be as issue for some people. The other issue to note is that there is no elevator in the building; so, the upper floors may be a challenge for some. When we return to Bath - which we hope to do soon - we will definitely be staying at the Kennard again.…
We stayed 2 nights at the Kennard for our wedding anniversary in Dec 21, in one of the Superior Rooms (breakfast included). A warm welcome from the start, the team are lovely and very helpful. Lovely Georgian room, with high ceilings, chandelier, oil paintings and a sleigh bed. The whole hotel is attractively decorated in Georgian style, including dining room. Very clean. Hotel will give you a parking permit for the surrounding streets, map and advice on where to park, we had a space just outside so had no concerns around parking, and being located just around the corner from Pultney Bridge and the centre of the town, you won't need a car to explore Bath, whilst being just outside the centre you avoid any noise. It's the perfect location. Breakfast is a treat in ornate dining room, again wonderful service, lots of cooked options including more 'posh' egg dishes than I have ever seen. There's a pleasant little garden at the back, and a well stocked honesty bar if you want a drink in your room, prices are very good. We loved the Kennard and may well be back!…
The Kennard is in a perfect location, a mere 5 minutes from the heart of Bath, but is on a side street that is quiet and calm in the evening. The breakfast is gourmet and delicious! Johnny was such a fabulous host during breakfast and check-in and paid close attention to details.
Wife and I had a great time at the Kennard. Starting with the breakfast… don’t miss it. Really great setting and food. The staff at the Kennard was so helpful and nice. We were late to arrive and found the manager waiting for us by the front door. Rooms are small but clean and nicely appointed. Great spot!
Believe the hype! These reviews are all consistent and true. Friendly team led by Olaf, clean, parking permit provided in the vicinity, help with luggage, emails sent before arrival to confirm details, and a central location to walk around safely and easily. Copious and classy breakfast menu with attention to detail; silverware, buffet, hot food menu, selections of teas and coffees. The single room with bathroom up the corridor was just delightful. All amenities provided, beautiful decor, in a quiet respectful street so not noisy, tv, kettle and home made shortbread and water provided. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
