The Royal is a hotel with great character, friendly staff, good food and comfortable rooms! Breakfast and dinner menus have plenty of choices. Great location for the main attractions Bath has to offer. We enjoyed our two night stay at the Royal which made our trip to Bath a memorable one!

We walked into the hotel and received a genuine friendly welcome at reception, this continued at every point we had contact with any of the staff and nothing was too much trouble for anyone. As well as excellent customer service, we were not disappointed with the restaurant food. It was obvious the chef had a passion for food, flavours, presentation and quantity were perfect. Our room was clean, well stocked with toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits. We are not keen on UHT milk, however, fresh milk which was available at the bar on request. The hotel is well situated for walking to the major attractions, we parked the car in the hotels car park (you need to book in advance) this was really handy, just watch out for the screws dropped from the building site next to the hotel! Overall we had a relaxing holiday, in a comfortable, clean friendly hotel and would certainly recommend you give it a try.

Without a shadow of doubt this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Customer service was second to none, all thanks to a dynamic team (Mike, Nick, Heidi, to name a few) who catered to our every need, nothing was too much trouble. The food was truly out of this world. A fine array of piping hot, mouth-watering dishes, served in a timely fashion. The House-keeping staff worked hard to ensure the hotel was spotless and hospitality trays etc were replenished daily. High praise to everyone who served us, including bar staff and special recognition to the charming young lady (whose name I sadly didn't get) who served breakfast on our last two days, a real joy to be around! Location wise it doesn't get better than this hotel. Super handy for the train, a stone's throw from the shops and close to all the main attractions. Mike works tirelessly and runs the show with military precision, if anyone deserves a day off it's you Mike! It's little wonder we would not hesitate to stay here again and can't recommend this hotel enough.

This hotel had so many positive points the staff where helpful and friendly, the room though compact (I did reserve a small double) was exceptionally clean and well laid out. I asked or a quiet room and apart from the pigeons on the roof at 730 am (can’t really blame the hotel for wild life) was quiet room location for a hotel located on the main road. Breakfast was superb and I got a good inclusive deal. The only negative is that the shower though hot had very poor flow. The location is superb opposite the train station entrance.

Thank you very much for your review and highlighting the many postive aspects fo your stay including breakfast which invariably generates wonderful compliments from our guests . I regret that you were disturbed by the Bath pigeons on this occasion . Thankfully it is not a daily occurence . Since receiving your review I have arranged for the shower head in the room where you stayed to be replaced which has produced a more postive result . With best wishes for 2022. Mike
