Only stay here as a last resort. I waited to review this in case my expectation of bedding was high. After other hostels, b/bs, and hotels the bedding here is not condusive to sleeping. Very tough cot but it was clean, with a decent shared bathroom. So if you need a safe clean place choose here, just make sure to... More

Stayed with my daughter in a twin room for one night to visit Bath Christmas markets. Receptionists were friendly and informative and the room was spacious and very clean. It was cold and windy outside but the hostel was lovely and warm Good choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, toast for brekky and free unlimitless tea throughout the day/night. Would stay again :)

I booked 2 rooms as I had family visiting and wanted to spend one night in Bath en route to Stonehenge (We are in Northampton). So we got a 4 bed room (2 bunk beds) for the boys and a large family room (3 bunks and ensuite toilet with shower). The place is lovely outside with nice garden in the... More

I have used this facility before. If you arrive by train you need somewhere to leave your case if you are sightseeing, You are welcomed and your case is numbered. This is much cheaper than other places (nearer the station) who try to get your trade. It is also open much later than their competitors.

I stayed in a two-bed room with a friend and it was quite nice. It feels a lot like a dorm room and I really liked how we get our own private sink for brushing our teeth, washing our faces and putting on makeup. The place was conveniently located and breakfast was decent (mostly just cereal and fruits). My only... More

Didn't have high expectations for our stay. We booked here as it was in a convenient location. The room was basic but clean. The bathrooms were also clean and styled as you would expect in a hostel. The location was great and we were able to get some close parking, but could easily see that it could be a trouble... More

I stayed overnight at the YMCA in a 15 bed women's dormitory and yes the room was a tight squeeze with 5 triple bunks (the lower bunk was almost on the floor) but at the price of £20 (missed out on the special offer) was actually very good for a room only basis and includes linen and one way of... I came here with a university group for a field trip in Bath, this was not my personal choice of accommodation. I'll start with the positives. The food was good. Hearty portions, generous breakfasts and all served by friendly staff. However, the actual beds were awful. Triple bunk beds (the bottom bunks were basically a mattress on the floor). The... More

Our new and improved rooms will deliver a high standard comfortable hostel room for 2010. The YMCA is centrally located, just a stones throw away from all the major tourist attractions, tempting shops, sensational restaurants, Bath Rugby, pubs, clubs and award winning parks. If you want to be in the middle of it, then the YMCA is the location for you. The old Victorian building is at least 130 years old and overlooks the bustling Broad Street. It houses our dormitory accommodation for groups, backpackers and holiday makers. It also boasts a rather unusual mural on the grand main staircase. All guests have access to single sex bathroom facilities throughout the range of accommodation and all areas have secure access, ensuring your safety at all times. Staff on the 24 hour reception are nearly all locals who know Bath inside out. So we can help you plan your stay, organise and book tours or recommend a place to eat or visit. We will let you know what's on, where's in and what to avoid and what's unmissable in Bath. Guests at the YMCA also benefit from access to our fantastic health and fitness centre, with a great gym, a wicked range of classes for those of you who want to sweat, tone or relax, sauna, sunbeds and the friendliest gym staff you are ever likely to meet.
