Very friendly staff, great rooms, lovely food. Really enjoyed the stay here and it is in a fantastic location to explore the village and the castle on foot. The bedroom was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Very useful that they have a car park at the back ... although it is a very tight arch to get through!

Did not stay here, but had the most amazing lunch here last week after a visit to Dunster Castle. The service was very good and the food excellent. Goats Cheese Salad and Chicken Liver Pate were very good. Would highly recommend a visit here and we will definitely return when again in the area. +++

Just returned from a wonderful time at Dunster Castle Hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a most friendly welcome. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, owners John and Lisa and staff were unbelievably friendly and were more than happy to help with amenities in hotel to beautiful local tourist attractions. Our room was spacious, immaculate...

Praise indeed, JoannaEdz. It was great to see your mother & you enjoying so much (she certainly is agile after a glass of wine!). It was refreshing to have somebody that is happy to sing along with our self playing baby grand piano, and table 8 were over the moon about being wished Happy Birthday to you (Marilyn Monro style)....

Thank you Clive M for your review. The room is a smallish room which we try to make clear to our guests and is not representative of the size of the rest of the rooms within our hotel, and as such it is clearly described as a budget compact room of which is reflected in the significantly reduced price. Although...

Stayed 2 nights, arrived after a decent drive, the staff were friendly from the outset. We had afternoon tea with a few add ons which was delicious, the scones were home made and went down a treat. After wandering round the village we came back and relaxed in the bar, the decor is fab and so was the 'Bloody Mary's'....

Simply perfect. The proprietors John & Lisa have worked hard to create a luxurious, friendly and extremely comfortable hotel. The staff are welcoming and the service flawless even at peak times. Though at times the pace can speed up, it is an oasis of calm to any visitors or guests. The hospitality, warmth, quality and attention to detail were second...

As a family of foodies we love to sample local restaurants. We reserved a lunchtime table and was warmly greeted by John & Lisa. We all decided to eat from the Exmoor Food Fest menu, offering us 2 courses for £10 or 3 courses for £15...What a bargain...!! The choices, presentation and flavours were first class. My soft boiled egg...

Thank you very much andywfc63 for your kind words. It's our 1st Exmoor festival and we really wanted to showcase what we can do using local ingredients. I've just spent 2 hours helping the chefs make 12 scotch eggs and can see how much goes into ensuring they're lovely and soft! Sometimes I'm sure people don't realise how much the...
