A wonderful last minute stay at this relaxed and welcoming hotel run by attentive hosts John and Lisa. Our room was superb and exceeded expectations and our off menu requests in the restaurant were happily catered for. The evening meal and breakfast were delicious. Will definitely return!

Lovely short break at this family run hotel in the centre of Dunster. Staff friendly and helpful. Large en suite comfortable bedroom with seating area, king size bed and large flat screen TV. Tea making facilities provided. We dined in hotel on all three nights and the food and service was excellent. Public areas comfortable and welcoming. The hotel also...

Hi Lindsay C. It was a delight to look after you and look forward to seeing you again someday. We're glad you enjoyed our hospitality and facilities. The windows certainly are old which adds to the character of the grade 2 listed building and therein lies our issue. No double glazing I'm afraid! I've not heard they're draughty, but I'll...

There was a very friendly welcome from the staff and later from the owner/chef. The menu was interesting and varied. We particularly enjoyed the Thai salmon with noodles as a main and the seafood salad as a starter.

Saturday evening meal for 3. Staff very pleasant and smiling which was nice to see as so many places these days the staff look as though they would rather be somewhere else. Toilets very clean along with comfortable chairs and clean tables. Food was very good but the only negative comment i could make was that i thought the portion...

Hello RandH32 Thank you very much for your constructive comments. It was something that we discussed this week about the belly pork size. The size does indeed vary a little, so we are implementing a more consistent weighing process for the pork, when they are cut. We use the same batter for the onion rings as the fried cod and...

We have visited this hotel twice now. The food is delicious. We have 2 large dogs and they were made welcome and fed a few treats. You can take dogs anywhere "on the wood". The carpeted area is no dogs". Very friendly staff and owners. We can recommend the sandwiches and the fish and chips and chicken dishes

Very friendly staff, great rooms, lovely food. Really enjoyed the stay here and it is in a fantastic location to explore the village and the castle on foot. The bedroom was spacious, clean and the bed very comfortable. Very useful that they have a car park at the back ... although it is a very tight arch to get through!

Did not stay here, but had the most amazing lunch here last week after a visit to Dunster Castle. The service was very good and the food excellent. Goats Cheese Salad and Chicken Liver Pate were very good. Would highly recommend a visit here and we will definitely return when again in the area. +++
