We booked a two night midweek stay on the basis of Tripadvisor recommendations. The place is fabulous. From the welcome, to the rooms and the food, everything is top class. We stayed in room 3. The bed was huge and very comfortable. The little touches like sweets and biscuits in the room were appreciated. The room is like a Laura...

We stayed in the Stags Head on 19th April 2013, this was our second visit, on a walking weekend. We chose to return as we had such a lovely welcome in October 2012. On both occasions, we arrived early (at just gone 10am) they were so accommodating, providing us with a room to change into our walking clothes. The rooms...

My sister is a great one for finding great places to stay when we visit her in England, but this time she outdid herself! The atmosphere at this inn is truly like coming home. The staff is so friendly and helpful and they really give 110% in everything they do. We had supper here our first night and of course...

We were looking for a nice hotel to stay at while visiting Dunster, we had narrowed it down to 2, I then decided to look for a nice pub to eat at, that was when I discovered the Stags Head, what a gem, the hotel rooms are straight out of a Laura Ashley catalogue, we stayed in room 3, it...

Reading the reviews we decided to eat at the Stags Head, friendly staff, lovely fire, but the food came out on cold plates, it was a case of eating quick before it went cold. Food average, but noticed if you were a regular the portions were a lot larger, i.e. vegetables, just an observation.

We read lots of flattering Trip Advisor reviews before we booked a couple of nights at the Stags Head Inn. It was on these grounds that I'm adding an additional flattering review. We stayed in Room 3, a tastefully appointed and spacious room. Warm hospitality, great food and we were made to feel very welcome by the owner-managers of the...

What a gem, we have just returned after spending four lovely nights at the Stags Head, on arrival we received a warm welcome and were shown upto our spotlessly clean comfortable room, although bitterly cold our room was warm and welcoming, we booked a table for our evening meal and this set the pattern for the rest of the stay,...

After living together for many years we decided to get wed in Williton, which is 6 miles up the road from Dunster. We read the reviews for the Stags Head and booked this for our first night of wedded bliss. We booked tables for lunch and the evening, our witnesses were to join us for the lunch meal. Because we...

Only had a meal there - did not stay. The pub was virtually empty when we arrived shortly after midday but filled up quite rapidly with locals and visitors alike. Always a good sign I think. There was a log fire burning and the dining room was very welcoming. The menu was very English with some local produce listed, once...

Very comfortable and inviting room and we enjoyed an excellent meal in the restaurant. The welcome was friendly and service throughout our stay was exemplary. We shall certainly go again and will recommend the Stags Head Inn to friends.
