Cute and quirky property situated in the heart of Glastonbury, right behind Glastonbury Abbey. The rooms were exceptionally clean and the host was extremely friendly and helpful. Great base to explore the town and its surrounding areas. Thank you 8owls team! We’re definitely coming back soon!
This B&B is at the heart of Glastonbury. Specious modern and clean bedrooms with windows overlooking the charming main high street. We stayed at the 4 bedroom house and we had access to a terrace on the top floor with amazing view of Tor. All 4 bedrooms are very nicely furnished and all have an suite bathroom. Most interestingly in all the rooms you will find little owls statues giving an interesting character to the whole property. Glastonbury abbey is just a few min walk away. The host was super friendly and gave us great advise about places to visit not just in Glastonbury but also in the surrounding areas. I would warmly recommend this B&B and i will definitely come back in the near future!
Communication start to finish was really very good, I booked as I had read the reviews and was there from Thursday till Sunday with 2 double rooms for a family meet up. Having read the reviews on cleanliness, breakfast and quietness i went ahead and booked 4 adults in for a long weekend. But.........the cheaper all day car park was full as it had a fairground on it so had to park in more expensive car park (not the end of the world) rooms were very clean and though one double room bed was uncomfortable the other room was great, though as both our rooms faced the street it was really noisy till very late past midnight in fact 1am music still being played and highly intoxicated people were hanging about outside the accommodation being really loud, then at 5am lorries, loading and unloading begun, that was the end of any sleep and then breakfast was vouchers for a bakery a few shops along the road. Had i been told at the point of booking there was no breakfast served at the owls i would not have booked. None of our party eat bread or pastry, so our choices were zero, no breakfast, we were all so disappointed as we had all travelled 5 hours plus to get there. The bakery informed me the owls had never cooked breakfast there so i was surprised to see photos of full English etc (maybe there is a cafe nearby that’s is used pre Covid) On our journey we received our door code and was informed vouchers would be left in our room for breakfast, the bakery isn’t that good at all, so we ended up going to 3 different hotels where we didn’t only have a sandwich and cake option. There is a communal fridge as you walk into the property and codes on outer doors so no one can just walk in unless they are staying there. It is noisy even without he fairground (which stopped at 10pm) if you are in a street facing room don’t expect a good nights sleep or anything after 5am as it wont happen. Even Sunday morning lorries were motoring through the street and buskers were playing by 6am,,,,, we wouldn’t book there again, however it was very comfortable good showers and very clean. Covid - rooms were turned around within a few hours so there wasn’t a 24 hour empty room gap, though i am unsure of what hospitality accommodation rules are to be fair.…
Absolutely immaculate room & building in the perfect location, surpassed all expectations and I’d recommend anyone to stay here. The owners are very obviously proud of the place and put maximum effort into it. Brilliant communication too :) Thank you!
Great place to stay, rooms immaculate and a small, well equipped kitchen area that all guests can use. The only negative is the breakfast situation, there is no cooked/sit in option, you have to take vouchers to the bakery a few doors up and have takeaway food. It's ok but not ideal. I don't know if this is a temporary arrangement due to lockdown restrictions? Maybe breakfast baskets left for the residents would be a better option for now until there is a cafe able to accommodate the guests.
