First stay at this amazingly rated 5* site, with superb toilet/shower facilities. We managed to book 3 nights, due to someone else cancelling. Having waiting for about 2 years to actually get a reservation due to Covid. Our small confined pitch in the Walnut terraces surrounded by trees, no views and a dusty gravel area, supposedly a “superior pitch” with water and grey water disposal over £30. Per night. Walnut terrace is a busy part of site as people leaving daily all around you. Gent next door working and leaving daily at 7 am. People staying in one of the shepherd huts in the birches, were vey noisey with loud music playing, shouting on Saturday night. Without a motor-mover the space was so tight we would not have been able to park there. All in all with the horrible lane access to site and locals not willing to reverse, to allow a caravan through, we were disappointed to say the least ! Every other part of the campsite seems to be good! No offer of choice of Pitch with many empty whilst we we staying on site. Larger toilet block air filter system is so noisy, it gives you a headache. Shame they hadn’t thought of piping nice relaxing music through the block. Friday & Saturday themed food nights were cancelled due to staff shortages. If you can choose you site and you like the countryside a lovely place to stay. Not the best break and certainly not relaxing.

This is our second stay at Old Oaks. We have a motorhome and the pitches are a great size. The facilities are luxurious, the grounds/landscaping is a pleasure to look at and the groundsmen do a wonderful job keeping it all looking so tidy. There is a great selection of takeaways every night of the week. Love the milk dispenser, saving on unnecessary plastic waste. The shop has a good stock and the staff are fabulous.
