Visited Weston Hall with my grandson for a Sunday lunch. Initially we were going to dine outside with the sun being out but soon became quite cool so asked if we could go inside, this wasn't an issue at all and was seated immediately. All 3 courses were delicious and very substantial. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Well done Weston Hall! Will be visiting again soon. 😊

We were kindly gifted a midweek dinner/bed/breakfast at Weston Hall as a wedding gift and we decided to book on our 9 year first date anniversary. I additionally booked an afternoon tea for us on check in day. Check in was smooth , although it is not obvious on first glance where guests check in - it is not through the main hall doors but rather via the restaurant which seemed a little bizarre as we were lugging cases past people trying to enjoy their lunch. Afternoon tea was great - particularly the cakes and scones. Sandwiches were rather basic. The service was incredibly attentive, a lady with blonde hair and glasses served us and she was excellent. We stayed in the Weston room which was beautiful! Absolutely spotless and very large. Really lovely space. We then ventured over to the Saracen's Head pub down the road for a few drinks and we were glad to find that the beer selection on offer here was much better than at Weston Hall! On reflection, we would have been better off staying here for our evening meal, but dinner was already included at Weston Hall as part of our gifted package. Dinner at Weston Hall was..."fine". Beer selection is terrible... Grolsch, Peroni, Pedigree or Guinness. The dinner menu as part of the package is honestly quite disappointing - we would have preferred to have been offered the opportunity to upgrade to the regular menu. Or, preferably, for there just to be one menu... I'm unsure what the service is usually like however the whole dinner did make us feel a bit 'second rate'. I hope this is not because we were on a package deal. The food we had was really yummy, we cannot fault the chefs. The service at dinner however was really not very good. As a couple, we were sat in a small space with two families with small children, and would have preferred to be somewhere quieter. There was plenty of space in the restaurant, we didn't want to be the people who ask to be moved because of kids so we didn't...but maybe think about where you're placing people when the restaurant is basically empty. We had to ask for water 3 times before it arrived and only got it once we'd been sat for nearly an hour. After we had finished our mains we were sat waiting for over 30 minutes before we then had to go and ask for our desserts and for our plates to be cleared. It felt very much like we'd been forgotten. At no point did anyone check on us during our meal to see how the food was. I really do not like it when establishments in the UK slap on a service charge to the bill without asking, if you're going to do this the service really should be top knotch. Feels VERY cheeky putting a service charge on to a bill where customers have had to wait an hour for water so needless to say we asked for this to be removed. Overall, food was good but really let down by dinner service which is not what you expect when arriving at a place as grand as Weston. Not too miffed as we hadn't paid but had I paid out of my own pocket I would certainly be asking for some money back. Breakfast was nice, only continental included in the room rate but service was good and the selection was decent. We didn't feel like we needed to pay extra for a hot breakfast. In the morning, cleaners were hoovering the corridors right outside our room by 8.30am - luckily we were already awake but seemed rather early? They clearly do an excellent job however as everywhere was spotless. Overall there were definitely positives to be found at Weston, but I think had I paid my own money to be here I would be feeling rather short changed.

Surprise evening at Weston Hall as an early birthday present.. Gin tasting evening hosted by Nelson’s gin which is a multiple award winning local distillery. The 5 gins tasted through the evening were all very very good and each of them can be enjoyed independently without a mixer.. The host was very knowledgeable and passionate. My wife and I really enjoyed the history of gin and was entertained through the evening. We had not done a gin tasting evening before but would not hesitate to do this again.. For each gin we had a food course that complimented the gin.. so 5 food courses including delicious mini fish and chips which was lovely. Hannah was the Weston Hall host for the evening and made the evening go without a hitch. If you’re after an evening set in a luxury surrounding and explore some exemplary gins then I thoroughly recommend this experience.

Went for a friends birthday lunch. The place was fairly full but quickly became very busy. Clearly short staffed, although I would say those that were working were pleasant. Lack of staff sadly meant very slow service. The food seemed ok, however unfortunately later that day I became very ill with suspected food poisoning. Such a shame it’s a lovely place, the staff were trying very hard, but I am very reluctant to eat there again.

Booked an afternoon tea for 14 paid £140 deposit £10 each. 11 adults and one child attended. Western hall/the waitress served us 12 adult afternoon teas and 1 child. But we did not know this because they brought the plasterers out and it’s not like we counted the scones to check. This wasn’t apparent until we all paid separately for the bill. When there was 1 adult afternoon tea still to pay for. We explained we obviously were only having 1 afternoon tea each and it’s not our job to count the amount of people or check how many have attended because if they went with the booking they would have brought 14 afternoon teas out not 13 shocking attitude from staff, made us pay for the extra afternoon tea. Disgusting and really affected our enjoyment of our friends birthday reluctant to return

We went here with our 2 young daughters for afternoon tea. When we arrived there was no one there to welcome us and the staff just walked past us. Eventually got someone to help us and show us to our table where we got left for about 15 mins. We were given some menus but not explained what the options were (there are apparently 2 different menus and a kids menu. You can also make changes to it if you like). We ordered the traditional afternoon tea and 2 kids menus. The food and tea arrived and again we were just left alone. We has to chase staff for anything we wanted. The food was OK but not great. The sandwiches were basic. We got to the end of our food and once again had been forgotten. It took my wife and kids walking out for anyone to acknowledge us where we could ask for the bill. The service charge had been added automatically to the bill but that was not being paid. Very disappointed given the other reviews we have had from others who had been. I very much doubt we will go back.

I was bought a dinner / bed and breakfast package for £190 for my birthday…..expensive but we thought we would treat ourselves to a special night away with some lovely food. The hotel itself is lovely with lots of people in and out for cream teas. Our bedroom was large but for some reason only had a standard double bed 🤷‍♀️ The front patio is great for drinks in the summer albeit there is a very busy road right next to it. Having paid so much money my husband and I were so disappointed in the evening meal 🥲. For the main course we were offered the ubiquitous fish& chips / gammon / burger / small steak (£5 supplement) / salmon…that was it !!!!!! All side dishes had an extra charge. There was a minimal selection for starters. We both opted for prawn cocktail but the quality of the prawns was not the best. The pudding of Erin Mess was yummy. Cheese and biscuits also had a supplement charge of £4.50. Our visit was a Tuesday night when there were hardly any other guests staying at the hotel….only 3 other tables in use in the restaurant. Overall I would say the cost was excessive as to what was received.

Came on Saturday for afternoon tea for 5 of us at 4pm. One family member car broke down (she arrived at 5) and the other 2 guests ran 20 mins late. At no time did we ever feel rushed to leave after our 2 hours or throughout our tea. The staff were lovely a real credit. Service with a smile form them all the whole time and we were allowed to change our sandwiches for a differet one...trust me with my family this isn't uncommon! One of which was me! I've been here many times it still sets the benchmark in my opinion as to how you serve afternoon tea in both quality and service. A 10% disrectionary service charge is added but we'd have paid this anyway. The selection of cakes and pastries served is superb. Defintely be back here this year!

Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, nice drinks This was a really nice afternoon, not busy at all! You can sit outside in view of the gorgeous gardens - a lot of people probably assume it’s for private functions only but you can just turn up for an afternoon bevvy in the sunshine!

This is our favourite place for Sunday Lunch. We like having a drink in the bar first whilst we choose our food. On this occasion we both had Lamb Shank which was absolutely delicious. This was served with Roast potatoes, Roasted carrots and parsnips. You also get a side order of veg and cauliflower cheese. If you want more veg or gravy you can ask for it and they will happily give you more. It beats all of the Paragon pubs hands down in terms of quality and for £29.50 for 3 courses we find it a bargain for good quality food in nice surroundings. The baileys and Maltesser cheesecake was to die for and was a huge piece. Service was also good. Would definitely recommend.
