Was so looking forward to staying here. Wonderful location, quirky bar area, obviously popular restaurant, but..... No reception area, jostling with the drinkers at the bar to book in whilst hanging onto cases is not fun. Then led out the back, tripping over vacuum cleaners, up to our rooms. Dusty, dirty frayed carpets in the corridor. A feeling of an...

This hotel is in a great location, and benefits from a beautiful old building. The staff however are the real highlight, so friendly and helpful. The reason for the 2 star review is the rooms are very tired and in need of refreshment - and the cost of the rooms do not reflect this. The rooms are priced far too...

Had an overnight stay here whilst travelling with family down to Aldeburgh. The hotel is full of character, as are the bedrooms. We enjoyed our stay and our breakfast was very good the next morning. Certainly worth a visit.

We ate here once again - we visit Lavenham once a year - and it is nice to see that the Angel is getting back to it's old self - serving good food that is nicely priced in a village pub atmosphere. It took me back to when we first came here, it's just a shame that the damage inflicted...

We have booked this hotel a few times when we fancied a break. It's clean and friendly and the food is good. The staff are very helpful, nothing is too much trouble. Lavenham is such an interesting place to visit too. Always come back refreshed.

We stayed at the Angel Hotel recently as a last minute booking. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were shown to our room. The room was comfortable and clean with plenty of charm. We had a Sunday roast in the evening and it was excellent as was the desert - two courses for £19.50. Breakfast in the morning...

We stayed in July for 2 nights to attend a wedding nearby and was looking forward to what we thought would be a lovel hotel! Our room (no 5) was at the back of the property with a fan that was constantly on and overlooked staff areas. It was hot in the room and the only way to get the...

This pub is very much a typical Lavenham building, rustic and dated, and all the nicer for it. Don't expect a lounge, unless sitting in the pub is your thing. Room was cxlean and adequate with a TV if needed. Right in the centre of Lavenham (not that there is much else further afield).
