We arrived on a Sunday afternoon with our 2 young daughters aged 5 and 2. Reception staff were warm and welcoming. We had been helpfully phoned the day before to tell us the pool was out of action which was a real shame as we were looking forward to a swim on a rainy day but glad we didn't change...

Having chosen Seckford Hall as a venue for our wedding celebrations we were disappointed to have our business turned away by Maria the events manager. All we wanted was to invite 24 people to dinner on a Sunday evening but apparently neither the chef or a seating plan could accommodate this. In fact the "events manager" couldn't have been more...

My husband and I spent the night on a Saturday for a belated valentines get away! The building itself is beautifully historical, with original fixtures and gorgeous surroundings. The building has an atmosphere that hugs you the minute you enter its doorway, with its wooden beams dim lights and the smell of wonderful food from the kitchen. It does not...

The good part is that Seckford Hall has lovely buildings and grounds and very good staff. We had lunch on a Saturday, the restaurant was almost empty and freezing cold. We asked for the heating to be turned on, but it didn't make much difference. The food was served in tiny portions that wouldn't fill a church mouse. Whilst it...

Lovely setting, we booked a one night stay through Secret Escapes and everything about our stay was perfect. The check in was effortless, shown to our room by a very helpful receptionist. The room was bright and spacious with views over the rear of the property and a good sized bathroom. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the hotel restaurant,...

Dear Mark Thank you so much for your lovely review - you are most kind. We have had a testing few weeks with the issues in our Spa beyond our control, so it is nice to receive and to respond to some positive feedback. Thanks for the feedback on the toaster - it's not something that has been raised before...

I booked a two night trip to celebrate my partner's birthday. It wasn't cheap but the hotel seemed to offer better facilities than others in the area- namely the spa and a good restaurant. A week prior to our stay I saw some bad reviews of the hotel and that the spa was closed due to health and safety issues....

Naturally I am sorry to read your feedback on your experiences of Seckford Hall in the run up to your aborted stay. We are genuinely sorry that we found it necessary to close the pool at short notice due to mechanical issues that would have resulted in non compliance to our statutory Health and Safety obligations. We made every effort...

We booked an overnight stay with another couple as a birthday treat. On arrival we were told the swimming pool Jacuzzi and gym were closed for maintenance. The main reason we booked was for these facilities. We were not informed prior to checking in nor offered any refund on our booking. The receptionist seemed unconcerned and just said sorry with...

Dear Jackie Thank you for your review, the tone of which I was sorry to read. Of course I am sorry that some mechanical issues forced us to close the pool area at short notice last week, but this was completely out of our control. I am sorry, however, that the team appeared unsympathetic to you as this was most...

Nice, quaint hotel with friendly staff and a good breakfast. I have to be honest and say that personally I was a bit disappointed with the food. Compared to all the other similar 4 star hotels I have stayed in I found it lacking in presentation and most importantly Luke warm. After hearing another guest complain about the food temperature and...

Dear Maria Thank you for your review following your recent stay with us at Seckford Hall. Whilst of course I was pleased to note your feedback on the hotel in general, the staff and the breakfast, I was of course disappointed to note your feedback on the overall quality of food presented to you in the dining room. I shall...

Hadn't stayed here for a couple of years but it's still a beautiful Hotel with lots of quirky features. I had room 17 which is a few flights of stairs, the second set being very steep indeed. The room was very nice and comfortable with all the usual services you would expect of a 4 star Hotel. No shower though...

We had a really an enjoyable stay. The Tudor building really is impressive when first seen from the gravel driveway. But despite it's age, the hotel had all the modern facilities we expect. Our room (24) was excellent with a view of the gardens and lake. We used the Spa and also had a massage. I didn't notice any problems...

Thank you so much for your kind review, which both I and the team were delighted to read. A huge amount of work goes on behind the scenes to create enjoyable experiences such as the one you had, and it is great to see evidence that the effort put in by the whole team is paying off. We do hope...
