My husband and I stayed here for two nights for new years. Overall the hotel is lovely the staff were amazing so friendly. On arrival we found that the air con did not work I no its winter but I tend to get hot at night we spoke to reception about it he said that they turn the air con units off over the winter. We also asked about room service we were told they no longer do it which is a little annoying but not the end of the world. The hotel ground are beautiful and very quiet which was perfect for us. We ate at the restaurant which was lovely however the drinks at the bar we found very expensive so we didn't really drink at the bar. I was surprised to find a fridge in our room which was a great touch as you don't tend to get a fridge I'm rooms we stayed in the superior double room with the enclosed balcony which we loved. We did find dry blood stains on the balcony floor which was not very nice but hey ho. I'm not sure if I would come back here although we enjoyed are stay I have stayed in better hotels the rooms are quite dated compared to the lobby area.

Great service all night by Paul, drinks were served efficiently with a great smile and perfect attention to detail. Stunning hotel with a very fun outdoor area (pool). Room was clean and very cosy. Perfect for couples looking to get away for the weekend! Thank you to all the staff :-)

We booked our Xmas lunch at this hotel. It was expensive but we saved hard for this special treat & valued family time. This hotel is a quality place so we had high expectations. We arrived to a friendly welcome & luxurious seating in the lounge, all very well kept very clean & tidy = great start! They also have dedicated parking opposite the hotel entrance, so access was very easy. = so happy! - However, While the ‘quality’ of the food was fine - the service, quantity & variety was very poor - For Xmas lunch was only soup or smoke salmon as starter & main only of Turkey or a vegetarian pasty - While the main was buffet style ( in trays ) the starter was haphazardly served - for the buffet, the trays were not being refilled quickly enough; so you might get your meat but then no veg/ roast potatoes as tray empty!. ( and was a vicious circle - never everything fully stocked = bad! The same for deserts, only two choices ( choc mouse or xmas pud ) which was served, but all very, very slow in delivery & running out, so some had theirs & others had to wait…. - Also, we were in a room, but not able to observe any proper social distance - as on large tables too close together = bad! Also, for long periods, the room was left unattended; so plates piled up on the tables & not cleared - but also no-one keeping an eye on the empty Buffett trays & when they did finally check, then took a long time to get replenished = bad! Also, when serving staff asked for anything; they were polite but then disappeared & took too long to return with the request = bad! Also, bad behaved children allowed to run around the tables, screaming & jumping on chairs & a general nuisance ( resulting in a table near us leaving early as unhappy with constant intrusion! - as was a quiet room apart from them - why not locate kids with other like families!….) - So, overall I guess always things expected not perfect at Xmas time - but even with alliances - the ‘service’ was the major let down, as expected much better - was a huge shame as was, okay but as the expected ‘great’ due to a lack of effort from the Hotel. -

We had a business meeting in July and in summary I felt sorry for the the hotel . On arrival there were crisps and rubbish on front steps, the guests bedrooms were not ready and the restaurant was not open for hotel guests of others . I am unsure if staff had walked out or were in covid isolation but the house keeping team was non existent . It was shortly after hospitality reopening but the place was unclean and really disappointing. We will not be returning .

I personally haven't stayed in the hotel over night but was a stall holder for the Christmas Fair in the barn. The barn was absolutely beautiful decorated, lovely xmassy atmosphere. When I faced an issue with parking, Rosa from the hotel was more than helpful and lovely to see there are such wonderful people around. On a personal level, surroundings and atmosphere, would go back any time.
