This beautiful bed & breakfast is very conveniently located in the heart of Dorking and its enchanting countryside,
The hosts, Maggie and Richard, are very welcoming from the very beginning, always smiling, very helpful, lovely to talk to. They look after their guests in such a warm, caring yet discreet way.
This place is extremely clean and comfortable.
The breakfast is rich and varied with several different options even for vegans like me.
I could fully relax indoors (the place is very quiet) but also enjoy long walks in the beautiful surrounding nature.
I would definitely come back and recommend to others.

We are more than happy to read your lovely review, thank you so much for taking time to post this. As you have mentioned in your comments, we are always able to accommodate different diets if given a little notice but generally have alternative milk, spreads and bread for vegans or gluten intolerance. Thank you for mentioning what you liked about both The Waltons but also the surrounding area of which we are very proud. Richard and I send you our best wishes. Many thanks from Maggie

Booked the Waltons bed and breakfast through booking com was so easy to do. Arrived before check in time, they were so accommodating and we got to check in early. The hosts are so welcoming and lovely. The room we had was the twin and it was really spacious, bright and clean. The tea and coffee tray was amazing, and you could get fresh milk from the dining room. There was freshly baked cakes in offer at all times. The breakfast was really great, you could add on a cooked breakfast for an extra cost, but with what was already on offer there was more than enough. I would highly advise to book here, and I will be back. The views from the room we had were amazing. If an evening we say out the front in the garden and enjoyed those views also.

A warm, friendly and relaxing family home. Maggie takes great pains to ensure guests have everything they need. Our spacious room at the front on the first floor was surpisingly quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast room was open all day for us to help ourselves to coffee and a piece of cake. The breakfast included in the price was delicious and kept us going. It was more like visiting old friends than staying in a typical B&B. Close to the town centre, yet it felt like being in a village, complete with sheep in the meadow opposite the house. Shops, pubs and restaurants are only 5 minutes away on foot. For energetic walkers, Box Hill, Ranmore Common and Denbies Wine Estate are all in easy reach.

Firstly, the location of this lovely little B&B is absolutely second to none. With very easy walking access to the centre of Dorking, it's a wonderful surprise to come across this secluded and rural-feeling place, with it's stunning views of sheep meadow and country hillside.

Numerous original period features and luxurious, sympathetic decor make for a cosy bolthole with lots of character, and it really does feel like a true "guest house" as the hosts are warm and genuine; welcoming you as one of the family without being obtrusive. We wanted to go on a serious ramble and were lent a couple of walking guides which gave us a great 9 mile hike round Box Hill, Westhumble and Denbies vineyards. Just what we needed! The lift to the start of the walk was extremely kind and very much appreciated.

Breakfast was one of the best we've had a in long time. I know a lot of the reviews go on about home-made cakes, but seriously - have the home made cake! We treated ourselves to a special occasion dinner at Sorrel which is just around the corner: also highly recommended.

We would love to come again for a longer stay.

How absolutely uplifting to find this wonderful review, I’m only sorry I didn’t spot it earlier to say a big thank you. We’re always so happy to receive feedback and this is about as good as it gets. But perhaps more importantly we are just delighted to know your stay was such a pleasant one and that you enjoyed what we, and Dorking, were able to offer you during such a difficult period in all our lives. We wish you both a happy new year and hope that maybe one day you will come back and stay a little longer (there are a lot of walks to explore in the Surrey Hills). All the best from us both. Maggie

Fabulous find in Dorking. We had a two night break at The Waltons, a wonderful opportunity to have some well needed R&R. We were not disappointed, Maggie, Richard, the cat and dogs looked after us and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful breakfast selection and fresh cakes cooked daily. Our room had stunning views and it was very quiet. Short walk to the main high street and a wealth of walks on the doorstop. Highly recommend, thank you.

I’m sorry I haven’t responded to this before but for some reason I have hadn’t received a notification about your lovely review. Thank you for taking time to post this, we have been so quiet during lock down and it was a pleasure having guests back (and you were one of the first). Beautiful Victorian house overlooking a field of sheep yet only a few minutes walk to the town centre. Friendly welcoming hosts who were able to put an extra bed in our room after our son decided he was joining us. Yummy homemade cake is available all day in the dining room as is fresh milk to use in hot drinks . Bedroom was spacious, light, airy and lovingly furnished to fit in perfect with style of house. Bathroom was small but adequate although an extra shelf would have been welcome . Breakfast was good and served in the elegant dining room overlooking a lively garden . A real gem!

Thank you Christina, you have gone the extra mile with your generous review. Both Richard and I read it this morning and it’s made a wonderful start to the day. I have taken your note about the shelf, this is why feedback is such a great thing. I’m looking into where best we might put one. We wish you all a very happy and fun summer. All the best from Maggie

We had a lovely stay in the front double room. A beautiful space with amazing views. It has a private (spacious and equally lovely) bathroom across the hall. The owners are very friendly and relaxed despite living in a stunning Edwardian villa! They are very happy to share it with you.
Breakfast was serve yourself but from high quality ingredients and warm croissants, toast etc were available too.
Excellent location as only 5 minutes walk fro the High St, but in a quiet almost rural feeling area.
Plenty of parking on street. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you for your brilliant review, both Richard and I are very appreciative of guests who take time to post some comments about their stay, especially when they are lovely comments. For other future guests we should point out we are both always on hand to help with breakfasts within the breakfast hours, however the dining room is available 24 hours a day for those who have inconvenient flights or early work starts, or even late getting up! We’re very pleased to read you would like to stay with us again, and we’d love to see you. All the best from Maggie and Richard (Walton Brown)

My wife and I have just spent 2 nights at The Waltons. From the time we arrived we were made very welcome by our hosts Roger and Maggie. Lovely comfortable double bed with a great view from our bedroom. Our own bathroom to go with the bedroom with a wonderful free standing bath to have a long soak at the end of the day. The continental breakfast was varied and plentiful with eggs cooked if required and I had 2 days of beautifully poached eggs on toast. Tea, coffee and home made cake available in the dining room all day. Cannot speak highly enough of The Waltons. Bob from Torquay.

Warm welcome. Splendid room and facilities in a thought through arrangement. Great night's sleep. Good mattress. Excellent breakfast with fine selection of jams, bread, drinks. Helpful advice on where to eat and engaging hosts who were around without being annoying - tricky balance pulled off with grace and skill.

Arrived to a lovely home, easy 5minute walk into central Dorking. Beautifully furnished and warm. We stayed in the comfortable front double room with a bathroom with rolled top bath next door. Lobely view from our bedroom. Lots of extras on offer in the dining room. Home made cake and tea/coffee and lots of selection for your continental breakfast. Cereal, toast, eggs, home made compote with yogurt, juices - very fulfilling. Would definitely stay again.

We are so happy to read your lovely review, and glad you had a comfortable stay at The Waltons. As you know, we are away on our annual holiday so sorry to have missed you. It’s excellent to hear you were warm, we gather the recent spell of weather in Dorking has been a bit cold, wet and windy. Thank you for taking time to post your comments, it’s so helpful for travellers to know where we are, and what we have to offer. We truly hope that for your next visit we will be there to welcome you to our home. All the best from Maggie (Walton)
