The pillows and sheets were clean but the duvets were stained and grimy looking.
The bathroom was very tired looking and crying out for updating or re-doing and the soap dispenser front fell off every time you tried to use it. Marks all over the ceiling and last guests wee on the seat and floor 🤢
I got the impression they were very short staffed so maybe we were unlucky with the timing of our stay and the poor guy on the reception had to keep dashing off to clean rooms etc, but sadly the whole experience didn’t leave a good impression.
Reception area is uniformly dull by not a problem as I wasn't planning on spending time there. My room was nice, very comfortable and a good size. I slept very well indeed. As is the case with many hotels, the shower/bath plughole clearly hasn't been cleared in a while as the water built up very quickly around my ankles - not a pleasant job but hotels really do need to keep on top of this.
I will definitely use this TL again though I cancelled a further night and I am still waiting to get my refund.
There is a Tescos right next to it which is ideal to pick up some supplies either when you’re just about to go out and enjoy your day, or if you need a quick snack as you head back to the room after a very long day!
I have to say every time I stay here, the room is spotless, the bed is made beautifully and even more comfortable! It’s cleaner than most hotels I’ve stayed in!
The staff are extremely friendly, always greet with a smile and tend to any needs you have. I’ve stumbled in late from the pub / bars on several occasions and the late night staff are always up for a chat and a laugh. Nice touch I think cos the staff here are just genuinely friendly and nice people.
On top of all that the price is very fair and reasonable! Fantastic value!
In my opinion this hotel isn’t fit for purpose and needs updating urgently. We are applying for a full refund.
My room had mouldy net curtains, mould in the bathroom and blood on the sheets.
Any time we needed any support from anybody, there was nobody on the desk. At one point, my partner waited for ten minutes to ask for a hair dryer and was forced to call a number on a different notice left on the front desk, all the while the person who was supposed to be working there round the corner hidden out of sight again.
Each night, our corridor smelt very strongly of either marijuana or takeaway. It wasn’t pleasant.
Members of staff stood smoking on the steps into the hotel meant it smelt every time you entered. You could also smell the ashtray at the top of the bin.
At 7:30am each morning, there was a delivery for Tesco right outside our room (21). It was noisy and people were talking very loudly right outside our room. Banging of bins etc.
The door was supposed to be locked into the hotel at 10pm and to use your room key. The door wasn’t locked once whilst we were there.
Overall it didn’t feel safe or clean and, despite it being cheaper, I don’t feel that our needs were met and the customer service was not adequate.
The TV signal was dreadful
To be woken through the early hours approx 5am, by the adjacent Tesco Express delivery clattering, can’t say we were well rested.
One of those places where you keep your socks on at all times
We took a chance with Dorking, knowing we wouldn’t be faced with drunken youths like you might expect in other city centres. Still wished we hadn’t..
