The White Horse Hotel garners acclaim for its cozy and stylish atmosphere, a detail-oriented setting that many guests find enhances overall comfort. While its offerings are generally considered good value for money, a few items may tip towards the pricey side. The service is often commended for its attentiveness and professionalism; however, isolated instances of slow service have been called out. Rooms are well-regarded for their spaciousness and comfort, despite occasional minor issues. Cleanliness is a standout at the hotel, with travelers consistently impressed by the immaculate conditions. Amenities, including dog-friendly options and accessible facilities, receive special praise, contributing to the hotel's inviting ambiance.

We tried the new restaurant for a weekend lunch. What refreshing, stylish and comfortable surroundings! Staff very attentive and welcoming, nothing too much trouble (had 3 yr old with us) Cuisine was absolutely incredibly generous, varied, especially for pescatarians. What a difference it makes to feel the chef has 'enjoyed' making my food.Rest rooms (always important in my book) were roomy and beautifully clean. Will be returning soon!

We visited the White Horse in Dorking for a Sunday lunch meet up with old friends. We'd had a really disappointing meal at another local pub, and realise some of the issues facing the hospitality sector at the moment, so have started to approach a booking with mixed feelings.

To get straight to the point, The White Horse has restored our joy in eating out, with fantastic staff (attentive but not intrusive) and really delicious food. We'd decided to eat at the White Horse as we'd seen it's recently been renovated.

The decor is really lovely and, although the venue seats lots of diners, we never felt overlooked, crowded and could still easily hear everyone around our table (not always the case in busy restaurants).

We left having had a thoroughly enjoyable experience with easy parking and spotless toilets adding to the experience.

Thank you very much to The White Horse for a great stay in not great circumstances (a family funeral) in early October. This traditional hotel/pub really is properly dog-friendly - there was a huge, soft, comfortable and waterproof dog bed provided in the room which my hound loved, dog bowls (which was great) and dog treats too. We own and run a small, dog-friendly holiday business ourselves in the South West and we really appreciated the little touches that we also do as well - human treats, dog treats and a hand-written, personalized welcome note in the room. Food was lovely and very good value for money compared to the rest of Dorking (we looked at other restaurant menus and prices while wandering around) and the bar area was particularly friendly.

We have always visited the White Horse over the years, and this refurbishment has really impressed us. It has a wonderful vibe and the restaurant is beautifully and sensitively refurbished. Robert is a great Manager and his team are very attentive, always looking to clear glasses from the table. We will be back again and again.

Very comfortable stay. After the M25 on a Friday, the lovely shower and heated towel rail in the bathroom were very welcome before heading out. The room was a bit chilly later but there was a heater provided. You can hear the road at the front but it wasn't intrusive and ear plugs are provided. The bed was super comfy. I was disappointed that in this day and age they weren't able to provide even one dairy free/vegan treat so I couldn't enjoy the comlimentary treats.

My friends and I had a lovely lunch at the White Horse. This is the second time that we've been and the food was again delicious. The service was still a little slow, but the staff were very friendly. As a wheelchair user, I find the White Horse to be very accessible with a large accessible and clean toilet. I love it here!

We had a very pleasant one night stay at the newly renovated Inn/hotel, only opened 3 weeks ago. Room 25 was lovely and cosy. Very comfortable bed. Pillows are new so they were a bit full. The Bramley products were amazing, bath robes, slippers, fridge in the room with fresh milk, both full and semi skimmed. They even provided ear plugs. The complimentary little cakes and sweets were a lovely touch along with a hand written note to welcome us. 🥰

We reserved a table for dinner. There were a lot of staff, I heard afterwards that training was going on. Staff from their sister companies, tweaking the customer service etc. We were put in an empty dining room by the lead guy with glasses. Everyone else was in the main bar/area dining place. Alf, our waiter was a lovely guy, very accommodating and he moved us to a different table, where there was a bit of athmosphere.
The food was a non event, edible but disappointing. Prawn cocktail was mediocre and don't bother adding the ONE prawn for an extra 2 pounds. I had the mushroom starter and it was very nice to be fair.
My husband had the tout for main course which was really lovely. I tasted it too. I ordered fillet of steak and unfortunately it was rather tough and chewy with no real taste of meat. My husband agreed as he tried it. The pepper sauce was bland, needs to improve. For dessert, my husband had the chocolate mouse, I tasted it and they need to put a better brand of chocolate in the ingredients, not a proper chocolate mouse. So disappointing. We did let the waiter know and the lady supervisor came to our table and said she would let the chef know! I think she needs to talk to the famous meat supplier listed in their marketing, something Allen.
Breakfast was an extra 18.00 pounds and it was nice but nothing amazing. The room cost 119.00 pounds.
On a positive Harry working in the bar was a lovely guy, great customer service. Will stay here again but would go elsewhere for dinner. I can't fault the room either, everything we needed was provided.

We stayed at the White Horse for pre-opening weekend - we were lucky enough to be asked to support the preopening training weekend and provide feedback on service and F&B.

We took our dog with us and stayed in a dog friendly room which had everything we needed for Bella - bed, bowls and bedtime treats plus a lovely bottle of Bramley dog shampoo as a gift to take home.

Our room was comfortable, a great nights sleep and the sweet treats for us on arrival a lovely touch.

The bar and restaurant have a wonderful vibe and the service, menu choice and quality of food was 10/10.

Fantastic stay over New year. We stayed with our dog - the room was really comfortable with lovely touches such as personalised welcome note and some snacks for both us and the dog! The food in the restaurant was excellent and the staff were friendly and efficient even though the hotel and restaurant were really busy for new year. Would definitely recommend.

Went with my boyfriend and our two dogs for the Easter weekend (Saturday to Monday). Stayed in a ‘fancy’ room. Bed very comfortable and massive thankfully as all 4 of us ended up sleeping on it! Hotel provided a large dog bed and feeding/water bowls. Used the very handy dog shower outside to clean off muddy paws after a long walk with both dogs along the north downs way at boxhill. Staff in hotel all very friendly and helpful. We had booked the option of dog friendly area of the dining room but our two were exhausted and happy to stay in the room after having their dinner while we ate. Food was delicious and good choice of cocktails if you fancy something different from the extensive wine list. Would definitely stay here again.
