On whole it's a beautiful place to stay, however the restaurant is still in the dark ages with its menu. My son has food allergies and they don't cater for people with food allergies. No gluten free alternatives meaning that we won't be staying there again. Back to Premier Inn for us at least they do care.

My organisation has used the Holiday Inn Guildford for the past 4 years as our venue of choice for events, functions and meetings. The hotel has over those years provided outstanding levels of service. The function rooms are excellent and the quality of the food exceptional. What makes this venue even more special are the staff. Always attentive rather they always provide a high quality service - the entire team are welcoming and supportive. This is in my view a first class venue run by an impressive team who fully understand what it means to provide high quality levels of service

A very pleasant stay, the hotel was lovely and everything was to a high standard. The breakfasts were excellent with everything to hand. Also a special thanks to the staff for making us feel so welcome. Gemma, Zandro, Anna and Vine. If we’re back in Guildford again that’s where we’ll be staying !

Not just a spa ! This blew our minds. we booked a spa one night break from start to finish this was the most perfect break we have ever had 3 of us in need of relaxation and that's just what we got and soo much more ,we loved everything from the organic vegan welcome smoothie to the totally amazing treatments and the therapists that made us feel so welcome I had a trearmy with Katie that I will never forget . Well done holiday inn we left being super impressed.

Horrendous experience. After travelling 5 hours arrived at midnight to be told that although we had pre paid for our room it had been given to another guest and we would have to stay at another hotel in Guildford. Upon arriving at the alternative hotel they were not aware of our arrival and it took a further hour to allocate us a room. Surely if you have pre paid for a room it is locked in. I don’t think this is even legal.

I would like to start by apologizing to you for the inconveniences you faced on arriving at the hotel. I understand that my colleague has spoken to you this morning and has apologized and assured you that you will not be charged for your stay. Sadly we had a water leak in one of our rooms and this room could not be let to anyone. Therefore we had to book you out. I was also sorry that you had an added issue at the hotel we booked you out to. This is very much an isolated incident and certainly not how we treat our guests on a day to day basis. We strive to make each stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and we appreciate that you brought your experience to our attention. We take feedback seriously and will coach our team to make the necessary changes so we can provide a better experience in the future. I hope you will give us a chance by staying with us again to show you that your unsatisfactory stay was an exception. Again, thank you for sharing your comments.

We use this hotel regularly for business events. The location , parking , food and staff all make it stress free for us and a good experience for our attendees. Everything is very organised on advance and the staff can't do enough to help on the day.

My husband and I had an impromptu breakfast at Holiday Inn, Guildford. The restaurant was quiet which suited us very well. The hot buffet looked fresh and inviting. The fruit salad and watermelon were delicious. I didn't have the full English - but I had a poached egg which was cooked perfectly. (a compliment to the chef). At 11 am we moved to the bar area to watch the King Charles Coronation. What a wonderful way to start the bank holiday weekend. The service was excellent and all the staff are friendly and efficient.

This place has really poor rooms. I cannot stress enough how dated they are, along with the showers which are fixed onto the walls really low so anyone over about 5'4" has to bend to get their head underneath them. The strangest contraptions I have ever seen. They bend upwards but it just means water fires at your body and head like a jet and goes absolutely everywhere when you try wash yourself. The shower is really not suitable for someone of 6 foot 2 as two of us are. It literally doesn't even accommodate anyone we'll under this height as my head was way above it and the tilting of it makes it hit your face. It was literally a painful experience on my back and on speaking to the person next door they felt the same. The double bed was fine. To call it a family room with the measly thin fold out bed is ridiculous though - my father slept on this and it was very uncomfortable - I tried it and could feel the springs. My 11 year old son was woken up by fire alarm at 11pm the 2nd night. This caused him much distress. Then I found out from staff it was form someone drying their socks with a hair dryer! We also had a towel taken by the cleaning staff...it was our own towel but it was for going to the local pool. The staff kindly gave a replacement. The shower is really not suitable for someone of 6 foot 2 as two of us are. Generally for the price the room was very basic and needs serious modernisation. No fridge, no water in the room, no biscuits, UHT milk and a couple of sachets with tea or coffee in them; this place is basic basic basic, although the main entrance appears "fancy" it is a classic style over substance situation. The TV was old, as was the furniture. The swim pool would have been great but they don't let children (I believe under 16) into the pool after 7pm? I have a very well behaved 11 year old who missed out (and did us all as I wasn't leaving him alone in the room) with regards to swimming. We spent the days at Thorpe Park nearby, but were shocked to realise that when we came back it was adults only? Why? Is it nudist or something? Seems like a fairly non progressive policy. Put a sign up saying keep your kids respectful or something...seesh! The food was fine, what we tried of it (aka only breakfast). It is the usual cooked breakfast, sugar fest you get in these hotels. So I opted for poached eggs which they cook for you - perfectly too, kudos. The porridge though, was absolutely dire both mornings so I didn't bother on the third. It is well overcooked and a runny mess, poor quality oats also. I emailed this complaint to them about 5 days ago and they didn't even bother to respond. reservations@higuildford.co.uk They seem to only care if someone wants to make a reservation perhaps? They have a whatsapp business thing which they keep saying they will get back to me re the complaint and they haven't. They responded whilst I was at the hotel, once gone it seems they could care one iota. For all the above reasons, we could not say we enjoyed our stay here.…

we stayed here for one night for a concert in Guilford, the hotel was easy to find and laid back in lovely parklike area, very nice, it was clean and tidy, check in was painless and we were given the keys to a room down the corridor, the room was nice clean, bed was big all look really nice, maybe a complimentary bottle of water might have been nice as there was a fridge in our room, we walked to Guilford town centre, not marked very well to find it but we managed, maybe a 20 to 25 mins walk there, as it was Good Friday a lot of shops were closed so we didnt do alot else there, returning home later most places were shut due to the holiday so no food reviews, the bed was lovely and comfortable we had a great night sleep, breakfast in the morning was excellent, everything you could ask for and more all hot and plenty of it, fresh juices ect one of the best we have ever seen in a hotel, we went back to have a shower when there was a knock on the door at 9.20, it was house keeping asking when we were leaving, i informed him that we were not ready as yet as we had till 12, after my shower the door knocked again at 10 house keeping again asking when we were leaving, to be honest it was the only down side of the hotel as we felt rushed to leave, there is a tesco near by if you need anything , other than house keeping a great hotel to stay …
