Stayed here for 1 night with my partner to celebrate my 50th Birthday. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent, thankyou Jonathan! Our standard room had the unexpected pleasure of having a roll top bath. The room was clean, spacious and had everything you need for an overnight stay. Only a short pleasant walk to the quayside with all its bars. Our stay included dinner in the restaurant, excellent service and food, again thankyou to all the staff. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. Overall a great experience and the staff went out of their way to make my birthday special. Would definitely recommend and would love to stay again.

Chose the hotel due to close proximity to The Quayside and The Sage. We parked at the hotel ( £10 additional charge ) . The Reception was warm and welcoming with a wood burner making it very cosy and our room was fabulous . We paid extra for the Mouton Rothschild suite with roll top bath and fantastic views of the river and the Tyne Bridge . We didn’t have time to eat in the restaurant before our visit to The Sage but breakfast the next day was delicious , beautifully served and with lots of choice . Slept well , the a.c kept the room temperature perfect . Complimentary chocolates and l’occitaine toiletries were a lovely touch . Would highly recommend

I cannot say enough how wonderful our stay was here. We stayed in the bridge view room, stunning. Jonathan (front desk) and Jack (bartender) both went above and beyond to make our stay even more fabulous. The location is perfect - serene but walkable to where the action is about a 5 min walk up the road.

Staff are absolutely fantastic, and make a good hotel great. First class customer service from Jonathon on the reception, Shaun the bar and bistro manager to Susie the deputy general manager. Nothing was too much bother to any of them, they went above and beyond. First time staying at a Hotel du Vin but it certainly won’t be our last. Good location, rooms are outstanding and the food was excellent too. It will be our first choice when we visit Newcastle again. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

We stayed here last night to celebrate our anniversary and was shocked when my partner proposed to me when we arrived to our room. When we arrived, Claire on reception was very friendly and welcoming and gave an amazing first impression. The room (Cristal) was amazing and exactly what he had pictured - he had been communicating with hotel staff to have the room ready and was able to choose from different budget levels of optional extras so we were greeted by chilled champagne, a huge bouquet of flowers, rose petals on the bed and chocolates. The room itself was huge and exactly as pictured with two split levels, a small bathroom, two roll top baths and a lounge area. The bed was huge and really comfortable as well having great views of the Quayside and bridges. When we left the room for a bit to sit in the courtyard area, the staff were very friendly and Claire came over to congratulate us. Another guest at the hotel very kindly bought us a drink which was very much appreciated. Later we ate in the Bistro and had a very friendly greeting from staff again. Not 100% sure on the name so apologies if this is wrong but Shaun who I believe to be management in the Bistro was amazing, he brought us two glasses of rosé fizz to celebrate at no extra cost and was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wine recommendations. Service was quick and the food was excellent. At the end we decided to finish off with two shots of Limoncello which the staff also very kindly gave us free of charge. We then headed to the bar for a final drink and the staff were impeccable at making cocktails, again with very quick service. The little extras in the room like the Bose surround speakers which we connected to our phone to play our own music whilst relaxing in the two baths, as well as L’Occitane bath, hair and shower minis. We had a fantastic evening made great by a really good experience and fantastic staff. We will definitely be back in the future! Thank you to everyone who made our evening special!
