This will be the second time I am staying at the hotel and dining in the fabulous restaurant and it most certainly won't be the last. From the ambiance, to the friendly staff, to the clean surroundings and the delicious food, I wouldn't go anywhere else.
When you step into reception, you are welcomed with a warm and friendly smile, the rooms are always so clean and smell great! then the evening meal is outstanding at such a fair price! I have 3 courses for just over £15! (Popadoms, Byriani, Chocolate Fudge Cake and a drink!) A special thanks goes out to Archana who really looked after me, helped me choose my food and even brought it to my room. She really looks after all of the diners superbly.
Thank you Luigikhan's, see you again soon!

+1
The reception lady was very nice, polite and helpful. Check in was quick no issues. We had to stay somewhere during home renovations so we just wanted somewhere budget friendly and nearby, this was ideal. This is a basic hotel which for the price it is excellent, spotlessly clean and decorated/ maintained to a high standard. The room has everything you would want from a standard hotel room - hair dryer, kettle, tea and coffee, bath and shower gel, a safe, a dressing table, phone, alarm clock.
The bathroom has a nice powerful shower and is all in working order, towels are clean and in good condition and plenty of toilet rolls.
Although it is on a main road we had no complaints with noise from that or from other rooms and slept brilliantly. Wi-Fi is free and the TV has Netflix, YouTube. There is a large car park and there appears to be cctv, the staff take your vehicle registration. They give you a code for the front door on check in in case it is locked when you come and go.
We had a ‘standard’ king room however the bed is massive and very comfortable. The window is nice and big and opens which is fantastic to let some air circulation as it is quite warm in the room. One thing to note is that there are only two sockets for the room at the desk so I would bring an extension if you need it.
I didn’t get breakfast so can’t comment on it however I saw a review which said you can go for breakfast in the Indian restaurant Akbar’s next door but it smelled of Indian food which they don’t like, I mean come on how idiotic can you be to go into an Indian restaurant and complain of the smell of curry? It’s like diving into the sea and complaining it’s too wet. I can say there is no smell at all in the hotel and there are multiple cafes/shops/takeaways on the same street, and the location is minutes away from town so you have no shortage of places to get something to eat.
To summarise, I would definitely recommend this hotel, the location is ideal, you get a lot more than a premier inn or other similar priced no frills hotel, the rooms are lovely and it was actually cheaper for us to stay here!

Stayed here for two nights last month. Attached to Luigikhan’s restaurant, there’s a free car park and a 15 min walk into town. The room was clean and comfortable we particularly loved the massive black out curtains. The window of our room let in quite a bit of traffic noise with the hotel being at the side of a main road. Breakfast was also lovely and the manager even went out to the shop to get some soya milk for me and checked with the chef what food I could eat being lactose intolerant. Would recommend this hotel.

Dear Clairebear0207, Firstly may I say Thank You for your feedback. We always like to hear from guests and their experience while staying with us. It's lovely to hear you found the hotel to your requirements. The road outside is one of the main roads in and out of the City and at times can be noisy, if not used to City living. It's nice to hear you enjoyed the breakfast and that you had a good selection from being lactose intolerant. We look forward to welcoming you again to the Sure Hotel Newcastle on your next trip. Many Thanks Ian Nicholls General Manager

Very friendly staff who made you feel welcome. Hotel situated in a quiet area just off the Westgate Road and only a short taxi ride away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre (it only cost us £5 in an Uber to come back from a night out 😀). Lovely clean comfy rooms with everything you need for a good nights stay and a great tasty breakfast in the morning including a continental buffet and a good selection of hot breakfast cooked to order. Only wish we had the opportunity to try Luigikhan's Indian cuisine restaurant incorporated within the hotel. Car park with plenty of spaces located at the hotel with easy access back onto the A69 to travel home. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Newcastle 👍🏻.

We were originally staying for 4 nights, but enjoyed it so much stayed for an extra 5 nights. The hotel is situated up a hill about 20 mins walk from the town centre or a quick taxi ride. There is plenty of car parking spaces.
There is small reception/bar area. Check in was easy and efficient. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the front of the hotel so there was some traffic noise, but we soon got used to it. The room and bathroom were nicely decorated and the bed was huge. Pillows were a little lumpy though. There is a safe within the wardrobe, although we were unable to change the number.
Breakfast is in Luigikhan's which is the wonderful Punjabi restaurant attached to the hotel. There was a choice of cooked breakfasts and cereal, toast, yoghourts and fruit. Dinner was in Luigikhan's and you know that a restaurant is good when the locals use it. Again all the wait staff are very friendly.
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Newcastle.

We found this hotel to be excellent value. The rooms are modern and spacious, the beds are comfortable along with the pillows. We were in a room above the restaurant but we weren't bothered by noise, in fact we found the hotel to be quiet in general and we were not bothered by any external noise such as the road. The staff are friendly and helpful and you get a bottle of water per guest in the room along with tea and coffee which was great. Would highly recommend. It is walkable to town, we got an uber back at the end of the evening which was around 6 to 7 pounds

We have stayed numerous times at this hotel, this was however the first time since it changed to The Balmoral Hotel and has been revamped.
We were in Room 104 on the first floor over Reception / Hotel Guests to Restaurant Entrance.
The hotel has had all the carpets replaced by laminate flooring which makes it echo / noisy in corridors rooms have under floor heating making it warm to the feet (too hot in the room by morning). There was a single rug on one side of the bed that was so old and threadbare it was basically the rug hessian backing you were walking on one corner, where it had been under an item of furniture during its long life, you could make out the colour and pattern it originally had - nice as a 'feature'? not in a revamped hotel.
The room and bathroom were clean less for the floor which walking around without shoes on we kept feeling bits of 'grit' (?) that we kept picking up and dust, appeared not to have been hoovered.
Avoid Room 104 to avoid the noise from below and the front door!!! From 11:30 pm - 12:30 am the fro 07:00 am onward we heard 'bang, bang' from the front door which is a large heavy wooden door the closes with a double bang, the door wasn't the real culprit it was the staff from Akbar's either going out (bang, bang) to make calls on mobile phones below our window then coming back in (bang, bang) or leaving (bang, bang). The bang, bang started again at 07:00 as staff arrived or guests left. We also heard furniture being dragged around below us around 07:30.
Never had noise issues there before, but not a good nights stay in Room 104

The hotel is just outside of the city centre, but is only a 10-15 min walk away. Its is on a main bus route and is ideal for access to the football stadium. The staff were friendly and the room exceeded our expectations for the price paid. The hotel can get hot, so some guests may need a fan.
There were many parking spaces that were free for guests, which is a nice pull to stay here.
Breakfast was ok, it could've been warmer but was presented lovely. We would've liked the option of having pork sausages/bacon/ham on our breakfasts. We understand these may have been omitted for religious purposes as the hotel restaurant (Akbars) appears to be Asian owned/run, but not every paying guest is religious so i feel that having that option would've been better for the guests.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and we were greeted upon check-in with a friendly smile and left after check out with the receptionists well wishes.
We would stay here again and would also recommend the hotel to friends and family.

We had a "Best Western" special sale offer of buy one night, get one free in December 2023 which was excellent value.
The male member of staff on reception gave us an underwhelming welcome and didn't look very smart so we were a bit apprehensive as we made our way to our room.
However we were pleasantly surprised as the room was clean and pleasant.
The parking was free.
It was a 10-15 minute walk downhill into the city centre or you could hop on the bus outside. We did both.
Both nights we were there we got an Uber back which was £5-£10 and worth every penny as the hill back is steep.
Breakfast was included but it was continental only and consisted of toast, drinks and some unappealing prepacked bakery items. The ones we tried we didn't enjoy.
We opted for some toast and tea and ate quickly as we were the only ones in the restaurant and there wasn't any music. As a consequence we felt like we had to whisper and didn't feel very comfortable. For these reasons we didn't bother with breakfast the next morning.
There was an onsite indian restaurant (also where you ate breakfast) and it did feel like the business was an independent restaurant with rooms rather than a chain hotel with a restaurant attached.
We did experience some noise presumably from customers leaving the restaurant and waiting for a taxi and for quite some time there was loud laughter and talking and this stopped us sleeping as our window was just above the reception. At one point I looked out and they were almost leaning on our car which alarmed me at first as I thought someone was trying to break in it.
All in all a pleasant experience and a great price but unsure if we would return without a special offer.
I'd say a rating of 3.5 but doesn't make a 4.
