We booked to go back to Capheaton Hall almost as soon as we got back home from our trip last year. We were only a party of two for most of the week but despite the grandeur of the surroundings there is an intimacy about this place that lends itself to relaxation and a sense of coziness that can be...

Lovely place to stay. Very relaxed atmosphere and is more than big enough for 8 people. The sitting room is late and the fire makes the place feel very special. The Kitchen is really nicely sized. The beds are very comfortable and the two double rooms have on suites. We had a great time here using it as a base...

We arrived to find home made scones, jam and butter awaiting us toether with a chilled bottle of wine. A nice way to start our family get together. The location was super, peaceful with lovely views. Plenty of space to walk our dog. The hall was as expected and more. Very homely, with a log fire. The only downside was...

We booked Capheaton Hall for our wedding on 11th July 2015. From the moment we first visited the venue we fell in love with the beautiful grounds and lovely scenery. The house was great inside and as a whole offered lots of photo opportunities to capture our special day. Elisa was extremely accomadating throughout the entire experience. She put us...

Everything about our stay at Capheaton Hall was sublime. The West Wing is stunning with beautiful grounds. The house is beautifully furnished and incredibly comfortable. If one could imagine sleeping on a cloud then that is how comfortable the beds are. A great base for exploring the North East. A lovely, personal welcome from the owner who promised to be...

We spent a wonderful week at the West Wing in February. On our arrival we were greeted with a delicious selection of home made scones and other treats. The West Wing is in an absolutely stunning location , the views from virtually every room are idillic. The accommodation itself of an exceptionally high standard. We enjoyed many beautiful walks and...

So reluctant to write this review... This has got to be one of the best self catering venues around. Cosy in the winter, delightful gardens in the summer. The hosts Eliza and William couldn't be more helpful. Such an elegant home with everything you could need .. great beaches and loads of history close by. If you are wondering if...

I went to visit the Hall with an Art Fund group, and found the history and atmosphere of the place enchanting. If you are a keen gardener, don't miss the gardens. On the top floor there is a "shop" selling Asian goods for charity.

Stayed here in November 2010 and would highly recommend it. The weather was appalling (deep snowdrifts) but it didn't spoil our stay. Our hosts went out of their way to help us (loan of wellies, extra meals provided when we couldn't get out and extremely good company). A beautifuk and interesting place to stay.

We have just returned from a 10day stay at The West Wing of Capheaton Hall in Northumberland. We stayed partly for business (so we had 5 days workings quite intensively with a group)and partly for pleasure (myself, partner and his mother stayed on after we'd finished). This is without any doubt the very best place I have ever stayed -...
