Back again only because it's by the airport. Room was crap, food not much better, soooo dated, needs total refurb as it did when I first stayed there 15 years ago. Rust on the towel rails, blanked off shaving points, chipped mirrors, black gunk came out the bath taps

Rooms are dated, but clean. Exterior of the hotel was getting a refurb while we were there. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Reasonably priced, everything we could need, but with no frills, good value for money. Conference rooms were well laid out.

The Britannia Hotel chain claims to have Covid measures in place. Well there isn't even any hand sanitiser at Britannia Newcastle. We caught Covid from sneezing receptionist who sneezed in her hand and then handed over form for us to complete while blowing her nose. The room was next to the lift so we had no sleep due to the noise. This hotel needs an overhaul it charges enough for a substandard experience. Only use as convenient for airport parking. Please do something about this hotel, and me and my husband aren't fully recovered from Covid, and weren't able to fully enjoy our holiday.

Me and my wife have been staying at the hotel several years generally booking for flights the day before and have found the accommodation and parking good value for money. Yes it is true. The hotel is a wee bit out of date but quite nice to go back to the 70s it is cheap and cheerful. They’re excellent bar meals you park your car for the duration of your holiday and especially with me and my wife it’s normally early hours of the morning so we can go to the hotel and get our heads down and wake up refreshed in the morning to drive home. Yes it isn’t expensive but it does put all the pluses in the right direction. It’s cheap it’s cheerful. If you want five star then go and get five star please stop slagging this hotel you get what you pay for and it’s wonderful nice friendly staff, nice bar meals and in general, they do exactly what they say on the tin so thumbs up to you guys keep it up. We all know you’re not 5* but you’re good offering cheap low-cost affordability which is what most people want. I’m not there to look at the 70s furniture even though it is quite nice anyways guys take care keep up the good work!!!

We have used this hotel several times and the standard was good. However, the standard has now decreased. The room was overheated with no air conditioning and no way to open a window, There was water in the washbasin and the plug stuck in the plughole. We had to get assistance to rectify this. Later in the evening the cold water was unavailable and the hot water reduced to a mere dribble. The evening meal was not the same quality as when we have previously stayed. The coffee/tea facility in the room had not been replenished and we had to go searching for a member of staff to obtain it. We shall not be using this hotel again!

The hotel is very outdated. The night manager was not the friendliest person and unhelpful. Our room was the worst ive stayed in. It was a family room, not a double as requested. Due to this, it made the room small. The furniture had seen better days, the bathroom mirror needed replaced.

Reception has been updated but no money has been spent on the rooms. Because it was after midnight when we arrived, due to a flight delay, we stayed, but otherwise wouldnt have. The net curtain was filthy, as was the window ledge. There were spots of blood on the wall behind the kettle and skirting board and some furniture were chipped. Mirror in the bathroom had large areas of desilvering, grout and seal were dirty and discolooured. On a positive note the reception staff were lovely.

We booked an overnight stay and 8 days parking via holiday extras for £98. For the price we paid I was happy with the hotel. We arrived around 4pm and the car park was almost full in front of the hotel. We checked in and were given a voucher from holiday extras, for a free bottle of wine if we spent £25 on food. There was a coach party in, so the restaurant was fully booked until after 8pm. The room was basic but ok. It was clean and tidy. The bed was a bit hard for us, but I've had worse. We went down to the bar for happy hour, which is on until 7pm. Drinks prices were very reasonable during happy hour and the bar had a good atmosphere. We got chatting to various people and it was very sociable. House spirits, pints and a glass of wine were £2.20 and it was £8.95 for a bottle of wine. It was great to wake up and be in the airport terminal in 5 minutes. While away on holiday I realised I'd lost my power bank. I know I'd used it at the hotel but didn't know if I'd left it in the hotel or in a box at security in the airport. On return on Saturday I called back into the hotel to see if it was there. I was told by the receptionist that she couldn't tell me if it was there and would have to take my number and someone would ring me. I asked for the direct line in case nobody did ring me. As nobody had rang me I rang on the tuesday. I was told again that someone would look and ring me back. They didn't so I had to ring again on wednesday. I was then told they didn't have it. I'd already emailed lost property at the airport and been informed they didn't have it. I think there should be a better system in place for when customers use lost property. It's not good customer service to have to contact them 4 times, including 3 phone calls. I would stay here again, because it's handy but I'd make sure I checked the room thoroughly before I left.
