Hotel's Favourite
Stayed here with my Mam for one night as part of a deal. We were warmly welcomed by Chanelle and delighted to receive two complimentary drinks vouchers. Chanelle was so helpful and friendly and told us everything we needed to know. We were thrilled when we saw our room (415) as it had the most incredible view of the Tyne with floor to ceiling windows. It was a lovely room and very clean. The beds were really comfy. We had drinks in the bar in the evening and had a smashing time. We loved it so much we have already booked to come back in the summer! Thank you to all at the Copthorne.

We personally wouldn’t recommend this hotel We were very disappointed with how tired it is and scruffy in places From entering the hotel lift in the car park which is your initial impression of the hotel and we thought oh no this isn’t a good sign The public toilet in reception was awful with hardly any lights working Not a good start Room was spacious with the lovely river view but the trams going across the bridge from 515am to midnight kept us awake Bathroom was not clean on arrival And the bed sheets had a stain on them No air conditioning just some air Vents that move the warm air around Breakfast was truly awful and a total disappointment Barely lukewarm greasy cooked selection and basic cereals with bread for toasting and dried mini pastries No bananas most of the time Make your own hot drinks from the machine No one was using napkins to touch the serving utensils so considering covid 19 is very much prevalent it wasn’t good We are out for breakfast on the 3rd morning with it being so poor and we had pre paid for the total one also We would much rather pay more money next time we come to Newcastle and stay at the Malmaison or the Hilton This hotel needs a complete refurbishment Would not recommend

Location superb, close to everything. Very clean rooms, first floor, so had a balcony, a bonus. Yes, agree rooms and bathrooms needing updating in near future, but very workable. Lovely clean towels, shower gels etc. Staff absolutely lovely, spoke as you have known them for years, so friendly. Food very presentable and hot. Breakfast very good indeed. Drinks a bit pricey, but only to be expected in a hotel in the centre of a major city.
