Good stop at this lodge. Staff were their usual friendly and helpful selves. New carpets were being laid throughout the hotel which was much needed. Caused some disturbance but not too bad. Makes the hotel look better Good parking, clean and comfortable bed with crisp white bedding. Toiletries were all in working condition. Pub next door sells food, real ales with large beer garden. Great for racecourse, golf, city centre and airport.

Usual high standard for our second visit. Room facilities and cleanliness were as good as ever, as were local amenities. staff and overall service. Value for money an important plus point, too. Location a bonus either for visiting Newcastle or if breaking a journey using A1.

The bedding had dirty stains marks on them, the bathroom smelt musty and it was noisy inside and outside the hotel. On arrival the receptionist was very plesant and helpful. Would not stay at this hotel again

Friendly and professional staff. Clean and functional rooms with good quality bedding and mattress. The shower could have done with a bit more flow and heat but I had a good nights sleep. Good value for £52 for two people.

Pick another one. Beds are poor and the carpets apart from the entrance are disgusting. Needs a complete refurbishment. Staff are friendly and pub next door good.won’t be going there again if we are in the area!

Lovely stay, arrived very late after a nightamre journey and met by a cheerful friendly lady who got us checked in promptly and we were in our beds in ten minutes. Clean crisp sheets and comfy beds. Only one thing could improve the stay - black out curtains!! We were woken c early by sunlight streaming in!

The room was in need of updating with missing mirrors, a damaged shower and a worryingly coloured carpet. The window would not fully close at the bottom so the road noise was continuous throughout the night. The staff however were very friendly and helpful.

We stay away often and I mist say this is one of the best hotels we have stayed in and that is down to the staff , Mike has been fantastic, im a smoker and often pop out early hours and I've noticed Mike has kept an eye on my me whilst outside , staff like Mike go above and beyond and I'd highly recommend staying here , Allison is also a fab staff member . Thank you both for being so friendly professional and going above and beyond for us on our stay

Very shabby carpets, large brown stain on carpet at foot of bed. Bathroom bin not emptied. Cups not clean. Splash marks on Bathroom door & black scuff marks on walls which came off with a wet wipe tell me staff are just doing bare minimum between guests.
