Please don't waste your money booking the premium room. Misleading to say there's a mini bar. Small fridge with 2 small waters and 2 small kit kats. I called reception to check this was correct and it was. We paid an extra £40 for this "premium" room. It's so dated and probably the worst Holiday Inn we've stayed in. The bed was a King bed and huge but so uncomfortable. It had a stale smell we sprayed perfume on it to disguise it. I feel we were totally ripped off with this hotel. We did have a lovely breakfast in the morning the chef was really nice and kept everything filled up.

I travel a lot and was not arriving at the hotel till after midnight and a long day. I was given room 237 and found the quilt compressed on one side as if someone had been laying down on the quilt and dirt marks on the bottom of the quilt which I guess is from shoes, there was also a key card holder sitting on the side from the previous guests. I then inspected the bathroom and the sink had a stain and toilet had hairs..... The last thing I need after a long day was to arrive into a room that was not clean. This seems to be happening a lot with major hotel chain players and I am sick of constantly getting substandard rooms.

Wish we booked somewhere else, booked an executive room as a treat, paid £175 for one night, part of the appeal was the mini fridge with refreshments in the room (turned out to be a couple of kids cartons of orange juice and a Kit Kat each) the huge bed looks fantastic then realised it smelled of urine and was hard. The room was freezing, bathroom was small, basic and worn, with a frosted glass door? Given directions to room via lift, lift was broken, walked through the rabbit Warren like corridors to find our room. We tried calling ahead to speak to reception, numerous called were unanswered. Once we found the place we went to park up, no spaces and the car park was tiny. There was a low roof which we caught our roof box on which is now broken. And after that had to park illegally and walk to the hotel in the ice a few streets away, my husband fell over. You expect noise in a hotel but the guests shouting down corridors went on through the night, loud music coming from an event downstairs. This was supposed to be a treat, I would never go again.

There’s nothing 4 stars about this hotel, car park full and very narrow so no where to park, long wait on arrival in reception only one lady serving, once allocated our room we were told to go to the end of the corridor to the lift when we got to the lift with all our luggage … OUT OF ORDER … surely the receptionist knew that ?!? We were then left to carry our luggage up 3 different sets of stairs along thin confusing corridors … sadly our stay didn’t get any better our room was very tired, bed small, shower over bath was antiquated cobwebs on the lights … absolutely awful! This was our first & last stay here.
