Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal.

We all had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Mal, the food was very good and made special with the views of the river. Tessie looked after us and gave wonderful customer service taking the effort to ask our names and checking that we were looked after.

From the moment we arrived at the hotel it was a five star experience, the welcome we received from the reception was so friendly and helpful. The room we were given was absolutely fantastic and made the stay even better the little touch with the welcoming card and congratulations on your special anniversary was superb. The breakfast staff were magnificent and the quality of the food was out of this world. Now on to Oli in the bar what a guy so friendly and accommodating went above and beyond to get us a table at Khai Khai after we had told him we were heading elsewhere for food his recommendation to try this place made the evening. A place we will definitely be returning to a massive 10/10

I visited the Malmaison for Afternoon tea as a present from my friend. The service was excellent and we were made to feel at home. The staff couldn't do enough for us. We had amazing views over the Millennium bridge. The afternoon tea was the best I have had. Alot of attention to detail and the taste was amazing. I will definitely be back. Thank you so much to Tessie and Tirso who should be recognised for their professionalism and great service.

Great stay at the Malmaison. Very pleasantly surprised by the restaurant. Delicious, freshly prepared breakfast served by friendly efficient staff - Tirso in particular looked after us very well. The evening meal we had on our first night was very special which was a lovely start to our stay. The hotel has a great location - very convenient for local attractions.

We stayed in Newcastle for a wedding, and couldn’t have picked a better hotel! Our room was incredible - Club Deluxe Bridge View was well worth the cost! Room service was great too, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We can’t wait to return!
