Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal.

Enjoyable stay at the Malmaison, Newcastle. All the staff were friendly and helpful, in particular Teesie who greeted us warmly by name each morning when we arrived for breakfast. She's a real asset to the hotel.

Had a lovely stay at the Malmaison, we had a corner room which was very big, the bed was very large and comy. The bar area and restaurant were both welcoming . Located in the middle of the quayside which has a great choice of bars and restaurants and lovely walks. The staff were all helpful ,especially Dave on the reception .

Room was beautiful, clean and great space. The room got a little cold and Aircon took a few hours to warm the place up. Great service, everyone was friendly and helpful. Good location, away from noise but close enough to walk to shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.

10/10 service from all the staff especially Gary! Spoke to him over the phone and got things sorted no nonsense. Manager Daniel is doing a class job. Trip advisor keeps asking me for 200 characters so here you go.

Very disappointed. Arrived yesterday and there was an issue with the booking. I initially spoke to the girl on the front desk who then went to get someone from the back. His attitude was not great, he clearly couldn’t be bothered and as a guest I felt like I was putting him out. The issue was then sorted and we were given the key to our room. Arrived back to room from night out to freezing cold room. Tried to call reception, but behold, the phone in the room was not working. Got ready again and had to go back to reception (11pm). Advised reception the phone was not working which was quite an inconvenience, bearing in mind I had to bring my child down to reception to then report the cold room. Few minutes later a guy attended to check the heating and brought us a blow heater. Overall poor attitude of front desk, freezing cold room and phone which didn’t work.

The best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! Defo recommended, staff are lovely, rooms immaculate and a big comfy bed . Obviously the pricing is a bit more expensive than usual but the quality is 100% worth it .Can’t fault it !!!

Stayed at Malmaison last weekend, Fri 3/Sat 4 March. Very polite and helpful staff, food very good - would recommend the lamb shank shepherds pie. Rooms stylish but did not have any cupboards or drawers, had to use ironing board as extra storage space. Bed very comfy. Room at front of hotel had a lot of noise from outside revellers late in evening. Lovely view of Millennium Bridge and a walkable distance from shopping area, albeit up a steep hill. Would stay again if in area.
