Had a fab stay at Malmaison Newcastle... great hospitality & customer service. Room with a view if the Sage & River... fab night's sleep with amazing comfy bed, pillows & bedding... although we didn't dine, we had amazing cocktails & would highly recommend the Nutty 42 it was yummy!! The only downfall is the lighting in the bedroom & bathroom,...

Top floor, HMS Richmond, great room with view of Tyne Bridge and Sage Centre. Clean, tidy, well equipped and spacious. Amusing messages inviting guests to steal the toiletries. Firm believer that a premium room needs a bigger bed, King size is a bit small these days. Great service in the bar, lots of staff, drinks a bit pricey but no...

We planned to get away just before the madness of Christmas began and booked the malmaison in Newcastle all the rooms with a view had been taken but we weren't disappointed. We got there early and our bags were put into safe storage whilst we had a look around the town. We went back to check in after a little...

My family booked me in for the spa weekend with two of my friends for my 18th birthday and it was fabulous! The facilities are great, and I had a massage which was lovely! Each person is treated to one treatment each, as well as unlimited use of the sauna and steam room. We stayed one night and the room...

We were gifted a stay here by family, and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly throughout the hotel. We were given an upgrade and when the main light had failed were immediately moved to another room. As many other reviewers have said, the lighting is very poor both in the room and in the bathroom....

Enjoyed a Sunday night break with meal in the Brasserie - gorgeous meal and great service. Room fabulous as before and had a lovely corner room overlooking the Millennium Bridge. Could do with better lighting in the bedroom especially beside the mirrors and next to the wardrobe but no issues that would spoil stay.

This was our third visit to this hotel, so you can tell we like it very much, not least for its dramatic setting on Newcastle's Quayside. The rooms are well designed with lots of storage space, the free wifi was pretty good, and we like the staff too. They are friendly, helpful and efficient. And breakfast is available until 1100...

Every member of staff we encountered was friendly and helpful without exception. Our room was large and modern with a wonderfully comfortable bed. Only grumble is that the lighting in the bathroom is no good for doing your makeup. Breakfast was delicious and we found service in the restaurant and bar to be prompt. An enjoyable stay for a family...

Just not worth the money they charge. At over £200 a night for a suite you expect some basics like a clean room. After the first night they seem to forget to give us clean glasses for water. Double glazing that is way past it's best and full of internal condensation. Breakfast service equally as bad - it's not that...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Fog on the Tyne? Let's hope not. Otherwise you'll miss the great view of the Tyne Bridge you get from our hotel in Newcastle city centre. But then, when you're staying at Malmaison Newcastle, it's the views on the inside that tell you your boat's come in. While you're right at the heart of Newcastle's great shops and exciting nightlife, the lure of MALBAR's legendary cocktails and the Mal Brasserie's classic dishes with a twist is pretty strong. And who wants to spend all night out on the town when one hotel in Newcastle has a whole floor with a shipbuilding theme and bathtubs you could sink a battleship in? It could only be the Newcastle Mal. ... more   less
