Stayed here for the second time whilst visiting Blackfriars Restaurant for my wife's birthday. Paid a little extra for a room with a balcony and it was a nice room of a good size and warmer than last time when we had problems with heating. The service was friendly and helpful and on site parking was very handy. Bar was again friendly although choice of ales is limited. Breakfast was buffet style with hot and cold selection.

I am a big fan of the Hotel Indigo but this time it didn't live up to expectations. We stayed for one night whilst returning our adult son to his home in Newcastle. Having stayed here before, as well as other Indigos, we definitely expected better. Check in was good and people friendly, especially the bar staff. The room was not up to par. Paintwork chipped all over, stains on bathroom counters, stains on the clean sheets and plenty of fluff/dust on some surfaces. We realised it has been hard times for hotels but some things are inexcusable, including weird mud stains kn the bathroom door ( at least I hope it was mud) and the fluff on surfaces. Breakfast wasn't good either and as I am gluten free options from the help yourself hot buffet were very limited.

Easy check in. Bar / restaurant area very stylish Room: Modern and well presented with plenty of sockets and storage space, full length mirror, iron, safe etc. Comfy bed if a little creaky Laminate flooring not carpets Seating and desk space with hot drink facilities. Shower only with hand and rain fall heads, full range toilet tries and tissues. A very nice place to stay, next to Newcastle Academy, few minutes walk from rail station and central Newcastle. I’d definitely stay again

Great central location. The bedroom was quite tired as were some communal areas, it was clean enough though. Mini-bar in room should have had a lot more than it did in it. The staff were all friendly enough. Meals were nice especially breakfast. Not much drink selection at the bar. Parking is quite limited so arrive early. I booked quite late and spent a lot of money on an upgraded room and overall it was not worth the money. I expected a lot more for the price.

Visited this hotel as it had been booked by husband and within works price budget. Hotel was also easy to get to from the railway station. A short walk and you’d arrived. Reception were pleasant, efficient and sorted out my breakfasts. All paid for. Room was modern and comfortable, the bed was not to my taste, being on the hard side, but clean and 2 pillows instead of one, always a bonus. Tea and coffee facilities okay, although the housekeeping staff didn’t refresh the teabags on the second day of staying. Shower was lovely and hot with a rainfall style shower head and a separate hand held shower head depending on what option you wanted. Plenty of shampoo, conditioner and soap left. We tried to book an evening meal inside rather than leave the hotel but were told that the restaurant only was open Thursday to Saturdays due to recruiting issues. Opted instead for room service from the Grainger bar which was a starter of salmon, bread and garnish and a meal of beer battered fish and chips. Both good quality food. Breakfast was excellent- smoked salmon, scrambled eggs a plenty and lots of bread, with plenty of cold meat, beans and bacon etc. Staff very helpful. Overall, a good night out and lots of sanitising stations around for hands.
