We set off to Newcastle not sure where we we’re staying We chose the leanardo which used to be the jury’s inn Thought we would call in and ask about parking we were told that There was park few streets away ideal we thought We were asked if we had booked we hadn’t but according to reviews it looked reasonable The reception staff advised us to go to booking.com We did £149 later which we didn’t mind it was a treat hadn’t been to Newcastle before and this was a superior suite Or so we thought I think what made us realise that this had been a mistake was when they gave use 2 bottles off water and 2 biscuit’s complimentary for booking superior suite When we arrived at our room we were stunned we have been in many a superior suite through our travel and this was certainly not superior in any shape or form Toilet was loose only 1 toilet roll carpet was filthy covered in hair no air conditioning there so we had to sleep with windows open Big mistake we never slept all night for party goers from midnight till early morning Also we did ask for a quiet room was never going to happen if they had been honest about there room the kind off hotel we were booking into I wouldn’t be writing this now if you’re heading to Newcastle for relaxing weekend avoid this hotel by all means We moved to another hotel called the sandman exactly what we should have been given first time round but hay ho lesson learned the hard way

I can't explain how lovely this hotel is, more specifically how amazing Brian is. Due to some questionable advertising by the Gateshead Branch, I realised I'd booked in the hotel on the other side. Me, my wife and 3 year old son had to check into a different hotel on the Friday. On the off chance my Gateshead booking could be switched to Newcastle, I called in at 8.30 am on Saturday morning and explained to Brian that I'd already paid and the Gateshead branch of the same chain wouldn't help me and advised me to go and check availability myself as there was nothing they could do. I walked up to reception and within 15 minutes Brian had sorted it all, even checking us into to a room there and then so we could get our cases, pram etc moved into the room. It's a lovely hotel with spacious, light and airey rooms, but the best thing about the hotel, is Brian. A gentleman who could not do enough for us. My eldest lad is doing a masters in Newcastle and I go up often, I will never stay anywhere else now, purely because of Brian. Oh, the rest of the team are also wonderful.

My wife and I stayed here on Sunday the 21st of May to attend a concert in town. We arrived early and well before check time and were greeted by Brian who couldn’t have been more helpful in checking us in and making sure our bag was looked after until we returned later that night. As we had booked a premium room, he also gave us vouchers for a free bottle of prosecco and coffee, which we didn’t realise we had. We again met Brian at check out in the morning along with Jonathan who both went out of their way to make sure everything was ok, and we had a good night. I don’t think in all my time of travelling I’ve ever met a more helpful and friendly member of staff then Brian, such an asset to the company. All in all, a great experience and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Newcastle to stay here.

We got checked in a little earlier, which was very welcomed after a long flight. Beds are very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bathrooms are in very much need of a refurbishment! There was no pressure to the shower at all, and no hot water. The shower head and soap dish were mouldy, and there was hair in the bathtub. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices. Staff were nice. I chose this hotel after staying before when it was previously the Jury's Inn, but I was really disappointed this visit.

We were disappointed to arrive at this hotel, expecting to enjoy dinner, only to be told the kitchen was closed. Yet another tour group was enjoying their dinner! No idea why we were denied service. The bar had no snacks, and we had to wait till 8:45 to order some very plain food. The room was average, the keycard refused to open our door and the shower tap refused to deliver hot water I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a great location just round the corner from the train station. The bars across the road with bear gardens outside are reasonable priced. It was warm and we couldn’t open our window in the room as our room faced onto the bridge and the train line and could hear cars all night I had a restless sleep. The beds are comfy and the rooms are clean. The bathroom could be doing with refurbishment, carpets etc quite out dated. Good for someone looking for a quick stop off stay in newcastle.

check in poor, room not ready for 50 minutes, complimentry drink in bar. tried to order food but told chef "has gone to the shops" and to go into restaurant and order meal there(same menu as bar)?? very poor choice on menu so went for simple and easy meals ,burgers etc x2 plus ham, egg and chips and more drinks .Nearly an HOUR later after some discussion with the manager our meals arrived, they must have no one in the kitchen, we should have paid for the drinks and left, very very poor service. The breakfast was very good and the rooms were tidy , close to concert ..more proper staff required
