We booked this hotel in the middle of a 35deg heat wave. We read the reviews and came (we thought) prepared. We even brought our own 'Dyson' fan !!!. To no avail. It really was torturous. I have to say, at this point, the staff coped remarkably, considering the whining of the guests. Room(210) was clean, tidy and up to standard. Although the lack of wardrobe and drawer space was a mystery. Food(breakfast) was very good, although staff had to be prompted to refill things that seemed popular. Like plates !, butter, spoons et al !. The bar seemed reasonable to us, although other guests thought it dear. They obviously hadn't bought a drink in Stratford !. The hotel sells other food other than breakfast, and this too seemed reasonable and well presented. Back to the staff. All except one, seemed really helpful and incredibly friendly (especially 'Demos'). The misery amongst them was the breakfast Lady(white blouse), who spouted off on more than one occasion how she "just wanted to go home". Sadly, there was a family of guests who thought it was hilarious to bait one of the other guests who asked them to be quiet, while outside having a cigarette. He was in a room above the smoking area. They obviously didn't give a damn that he was trying to settle his chid(ren) down at midnight. Would we return?. Well it is one of the better Travelodges, that we've stayed in. Despite the heat. The answer is yes.

No hot water for shower. According to Mik on reception the water was turned off at 11am & people shower before then so no guests had be made aware of the issue. Sorry Mik my fault. I should’ve washed myself on time. Room key let you access lift but failed to let you then access room. No hot breakfast. Again nobody had notified guests but my fault for getting up to eat….. I did do that on time though.

I stayed for 3 nights in room 309. I appreciate the Travel lodge can’t control the temperature outside the building. However on a night time it was a lot cooler (22c). Throughout the day the outside temperature reached up to 34C. So because of the building set up on the night time there was nowhere for the room temperature heat to escape. I begged the receptionist for a key to open the window fully to allow the cooler air to enter the room but she said that she couldn’t'. She gave me a fan but that made no difference, all it did was blow hot air around the room. So at the end of the day I paid money to stay 3 nights in Stratford upon Avon to visit my grandchildren and because I booked in to stay at the Travel Lodge I had a very unpleasant time, it was like trying to sleep in an oven.

We stayed here on a two night break, left after one night as the hotel turned the water off without informing guests for the afternoon. It was a hot day, unable to use the toilet, make drinks for our small children. When questioned with reception they were very unhelpful about the situation, couldn't give us information, no offer of bottled water or drinks for inconvenience, no empathy for the situation and no apology. One of the staff actually laughed when talking to her about it. Avoid this travelodge

For a start the only reason I've given 2 is the staff were excellent but the rest was not good at all Firstly when we arrived the water was off ok this happens . Secondly no full English breakfast which we had pre paid for apparently no gas . No shower gel in shower. Flooring around shower was coming away . Hence will not be using again. Staff deserved better as they had to make the excuses for the poor state of it.

Easy to access from the north, with free parking, about 1 mile from the centre of the town. There were buses into the centre but these appeared to be hourly. All the usual Travelodge facilities, cleanliness and quiet rooms.

Booked Travelodge as Premier Inn The Waterways was fully booked. First impressions ok although no air conditioning so quite warm baring in mind we are on the top floor in a heatwave. 28 degrees outside today, came back to room at 1:30pm to freshen up & have a drink & there was no water, when asked at reception was told that it’s because of maintenance works & that it would be back on within half an hour, over an hour later & still no water & no offer of refreshments, thankfully Tesco is over the road so able to get drinks for 2 & 4 year old sons. Probably won’t come back here next year.

Quiet room on the second floor very clean and comfortable fan supplied to help with hot weather we stayed in Stratford to visit nearby Commonwealth Games bowling in Leamington Spa much better value than closer hotels and free public transport for games venues so very convenient. The hotel is walking distance into town and has free car park so once there no need to use your car. The staff were great helpful and attentive even a new member of staff on her first week, breakfast was excellent hot, well prepared and lots of choices.
