Very last minute but we chose Aleston Manor for it Tudor styling and that it had a swimming pool. The service from the staff was brilliant from start to finish, both the hotel and room was spotless and beautiful. We had a great dinner and breakfast. Very much look forward to going back.

Stayed at the hotel for a birthday treat for my partner and had a lovely four poster bedroom with all the trimmings The room was clean and bed very comfortable and in a lovely location However when checking in was greeted with a receptionist with an attitude- had booked a table at the restaurant on line and received confirmation- to...

Don't be fooled by the quant Elizabethan facade it really is only skin deep, you could well end up in a seventies style square, characterless room at the back. The architecture, or lack of it doesn't stop at the bedrooms, the bar could, and should be a stylish, welcoming place, instead of which it's devoid of any character, apart from...

Dear Dalestreet Thank you for your feedback. It is important so we can improve the service we offer our guests. Extensions have taken place to the existing Manor House over the years hence we cannot accommodate all guests in the Manor House. I will look into the comments made around the atmosphere in the bar as this is not the...

This was an 'Ultimate Spa weekend' which included two nights, two treatments each, dinner on one night, and breakfasts. The hotel is right in the centre with the town 5 minutes away to the centre shopping area and attractions. Firstly the hotel. Parking was tight on our Friday arrival but check in was swift and warm. Our standard classic room...

A weekend away which doesn't happen very often so I picked this hotel being a 4 star and a macdonald reputation. The drive up to the hotel is fabulous looks wonderful......then you have to find a parking space ......all made for mini size cars and we had to pay to park, which I know is common practice but when you...

We had a 3-day break at this hotel in Feb-17 half term. We got a great rate for room only, and enjoyed a good sized family room. All the usual facilities in the room, but lacking a fridge and wall plugs (only 3 in the whole room, one of which was not working). Comfortable beds, excellent black-out curtains, plenty of...

Stayed for 3 nights from 19.02.17. Having stayed at Macdonald Glasgow and Bath in the last two years, we were not expecting Alvaston Manor to have so many problems. Our Classic room was clean, but there wasn't a bedside light on one side of the double bed, making it difficult to read in bed. Toiletry products were provided on two...

The attraction was the beautiful timber framed building on the website but do not be fooled, most of the rooms are in modern(?) extensions. It must have the longest corridor in hotel history to get to the wing allocated and the provision of a segway would have been useful. The room was well equipped, spacious and with a huge comfortable...

2 night stay with husband for sightseeing in Stratford. Stayed with Macdonald before so booked on the basis of that and very good location for walking around Stratford. The loscation didn't disappoint neither did Stratford, however the hotel is a let down. It looks great and the grounds are beautiful. Booked executive double which was tiny, just about able to...
