The charm in this hotel relates to its age , oak beams and uneven occasionally creaking floors. The rooms are a delight and nothing like a modern hotel. We were in the Romeo and Juliet room - perfect for us. The ambience is increased by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, especially Nicola on reception. When we arrived the...

Full of charm, wonky walls and creaky corridors. Well furnished and good standard of maintenance and brimming with charm. Town centre location was perfect. Parking expensive but space at a premium in a medieval town I suppose. Staff polite and professional. Good facilities and close to everything.

Reception had difficulty finding our booking (despite my presenting an Accor club card). Unable to get a good night's sleep on the first night, due to the noise of what the night staff said was the air conditioning in other rooms. The second night we were moved to a room which had an awful-smelling bathroom. Luckily we were only staying...

Stayed one night here combined with a theatre visit. Loved the sloping floors and walls, and the lovely furnishings and pictures. Great creaky floorboards combined with luxury bathrooms make for a lovely characterful break. I would have given 5 stars, but for the v slow breakfast service, even though the restaurant was quite empty. But a v good hotel in...

I stayed here for two nights recently. The hotel is very characteristic with exposed beams, impressive fireplaces and a good location. Anything worth seeing is within an easy walk of the hotel. The room we had was spacious and clean with a large comfy bed. The view was somewhat unispiring , overlooing the carpark and a building site, but it...

Stratford is one of our favourite places. We always have a great time here. We stayed at the great Shakespeare Hotel with the creaky floorboards and old fashioned ambience which makes the experience great. Sat outside this time in the little courtyard and had a glass of wine while relaxing.

Well located, fairly reasonably priced hotel very near major Stratford sights. Our room, one of the ones allowing pets, was fairly small and shabby although the bathroom was newly fitted. Reception staff were helpful and friendly and the maitre d' at breakfast was well worth the entrance fee! Parking is chaotic and expensive with little control on who uses it...

Spent two nights here in July- floorboards creak, they are not level and the hotel is an old, old building . We loved it!!!!! It's got great character, pleasant and helpful staff and a MPW restaurant on-site (reviewed separately). Rooms were clean and spacious and overall we enjoyed the stay.

We stayed here on a one night stopover driving to Scotland. This hotel is in a very old Tudor building so if you do not want to lug bags up stairs ask for a ground floor room. We were surprised how big our rooms were. I would describe my daughters room as enormous. Bathrooms were large also. Our room was...
