My friend and I stayed over near the end of March to see a production at the RSC, and we couldn't have been happier with the accommodation. We arrived a little earlier than specified but this seemed to be of no problem and we were welcomed in whereupon we were given a map of the area with some helpful tips...

We stayed at Ambleside for 2 nights at the end of November as a couple for my birthday. We had the whole top floor room which was lovely and big with en suite, bed was lovely and comfortable. Parking to the rear of the property. We were made to feel very welcome and the breakfasts were lovely. Only 2-3 minute...

Stayed at the Ambleside soon after Christmas for a RSC restaurant and theatre visit. Had had a horrendous drive to Stratford from London as everyone in the world seemed to be returning from Christmas visits! However, all stresses were alleviated within minutes of receiving Peter's warm and friendly welcome, and being shown to our scrupulously clean, warm and cozy room...

I have stayed here since 2008 and it has been upgraded since my last visit. I had a twin room with en suite though I was expecting the single room above the front door, in which i have stayed many times. As usual Ruth and Peter were very welcoming and the decor was pristine, as were the bedrooms. the Breakfast...

We booked 5 rooms and all of them were top notch, not a sign of any black mould around the showers which is unusual.Peter &...

What a fabulous guest house this is !!.We stayed here with family to celebrate a golden wedding and we couldn't have made a better choice. Peter and Ruth were fantastic hosts and went out of their way to ensure everything went smoothly, even as far as to ring restaurant without our knowledge to make sure everything was in order. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we were unable to stay on our chosen date. Nevertheless I would like to express my gratitude towards the owners of Ambleside for their patience, understanding and kindness over the past few weeks concerning the unfortunate events that conspired against us. They were also able to resell our room,at extremely short notice, so...

The breakfast dining room was especially pretty set in the bay window facing the street. The plantings the dooryard were neat and pretty, pansies, I think. Parking behind the house was a tight squeeze, but we were able to walk almost everywhere, including to the theatre. Hosts were very professional in their services.

Comfortable spacious room, quiet and cozy. Lots of breakfast options, all delicious. The owners took extra effort to provide information about available tours and good restaurants in the area. Great location - easy walk into town and to Holy Trinity which has a lovely Evensong service. As a solo traveler, I felt well cared for and so appreciated all the...
