The first time we stayed here they actually put us in a nice room which is why we booked again with this hotel. However on our second visit they shoved us right at the back of the hotel in the most vile room I had ever stayed in! As soon as you walked in you could see the wallpaper coming...

The hotel staff were polite and friendly, but the location of the hotel wasn't great for us. Either a long walk from the city centre, or a bus or taxi was required. The rooms were in desperate need of a refurb too. Shabby and poorly decorated, the heating was far too hot and we weren't able to turn it down,...

We booked this hotel as it appeared to be within walking distance of the City Centre and Barclaycard Arena. We were there for a duel purpose, to visit the Christmas Markets and attend an evening concert. However, as we discovered the walk into the City Centre to the markets takes around 30 minutes. After touring the Christmas Markets and German...

Stayed here after a night out in Birmingham. The hotel does need a little TLC in places. It served a purpose. Don't think I'd stay any longer than a night here. Deposit of £50 taken on checking in, which I think is a bit naughty as there was no prior warning of this. My single room was nice enough, seemed...

You get what you pay for and I certainly won't be making the mistake of wasting my money on a dive like this again. Badly in need of a major refurb, very dated, dirty carpets and curtains, spider webs, crap shower, ceiling tile missing above the door in the corridor with live wires on show, loud and inappropriate music playing...

Stayed here last night. Reception area and outside look fine, but my room (159) gave a lot to be desired. Whilst it was clean enough, it was in dire need of a refurb -gaudy walls, stained ceiling, radiator in bedroom had no way of turning down as knobs fallen off and one in bathroom was desperate for a paint. Every...

The room was really good size, heater was working well. Squeaky floors but I was staying on a ground floor so it didn't bother anyone. Breakfast was quite poor. I paid 1£ more and went next door to premier inn. What a difference! They cook fresh breakfast to order, much more choice then at Cobden. Really nice atmosphere so don't...

If you want a cheap (£41), very basic hotel, a short bus distance away from the city, then stay here. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, this is very basic accommodation. Think of a student residence that has seen better days! Our rooms were poorly furnished and there was an air of neglect, e.g. Missing draw front: no plug or...
