My husband and I stayed here for one night and what a beautiful place it is! The Aston Tavern is a stunning periodic hotel, tucked away under the flyover. You would expect to be disturbed by traffic noise however, it was so quiet! The hosts were lovely, we got chatting to Paul and he and his wife are very welcoming. The room was spotless - we stayed in the bridal suite as it was our anniversary and it is a lovely spacious room and the tea and coffee selection was amazing, not just the average sachets you usually get in a hotel room. The breakfast was amazing - we ordered the evening before so it was all cooked fresh and there was also a good selection of cereal, pastries and fruit to choose from. There are just a couple of things that would make it even better - a shelf in the shower to place toiletries on as there is nothing and a small wardrobe as there are only a few hooks to hang clothes on. I realise being the bridal suite it may seem there isn't much need for a wardrobe however, even newlyweds need a change of clothes and somewhere to put them! On a personal note, the bed was far too soft for our liking but for some it would be perfect. Oh and the welcome letter states there is Sky TV however, there is only Freeview. I think there is Sky in the actual pub but it is a bit misleading. We would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again if we ever travel that way
