This has got to be the worst run and disgusting hotel I have ever stayed. The staff at reception and the manager are miserable. I would encourage you to book elsewhere. I complained about noise and nothing was done, sleepless night and booking.com could not claim monies back! Definitely book another hotel if you want to avoid disappointment

On 28 November we booked up the Senator room at the Great Barr Hotel for a family reunion for 15 people for teas, coffee, sandwiches and cake and how pleased we all were there was more than enough food for 25 people. The room was lovely and warm even though the conditions were freezing outside with snow. We never felt pressurised to be out at a certain time and was able to stop as long as we liked. If in future we have any more family get togethers we will certainly be booking up the Great Barr Hotel.

We stayed here last night and I wouldn't stay again unless it was in one of the rooms on the trip advisor advertising. My room was nothing like it. On check in the person didn't direct us or tell us when breakfast was and so when we did find our room we had to go straight down as the door didn't really close properly, I wouldn't have felt safe there on my own. The room was dated but OK however not very clean. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable with very cheap quality pillows. The toiletries provided is literally a all in one dove wash . It really is very very basic. Breakfast was just ok, food luke warm. Service overall was lacking. The tribute act dinner the night before again service was very slow our table was last to eat with 1hour between starter and main. Veg was frozen tasting and hard and there was a inconsistency between portion sizes. The desert buffet looked delicious but when our table went up we were offered whatever was left they didn't intend to bring our fresh offerings and it meant we didn't get a full choice which was dissapointing. On complaining one refreshed cake appeared. Perhaps staff shouldn't have been giving everyone 2 slices of whatever they wanted so there was enough left for everyone. We had fun with our friends and the singers were brilliant and that's what made it for us.

We always have a good here, just a shame I will never be going again. The treatment from the owner of the company absolutely stinks, All he cares about is money. So keep that in mind if u book here for a family night out etc and something like covid happens again, You will lose your money. Staff are lovely, just a shame they work for an arse

Visited hotel to book a room and buffet for about 25 people. On reserving the room, we outlined exactly what we wanted for the guests, and was told that the sandwiches supplied would be the Chef's selection, which I was a bit surprised that we could not be informed of what was to be served, but, in hindsight, it was a big mistake. The sandwiches tasted of vinegar, cucumber sandwiches had a spread that tasted of raw garlic. Two different types of cake was requested, only 1 arrived. Paid extra for sausage rolls that were burned to a cinder.Paid extra for crisps that were not served until my wife found someone to find out why? They arrived eventually. At a sad time like this, the last thing you would expect is a shambles and complete waste of money. After making a complaint to the Hotel management we were offered a free meal, to which after a fiasco like this, we declined and vowed never to return to this hotel.
