We have just returned from a two night stay at this really nice hotel. We did consider cancelling due to the other reviews but I am so glad we didn't!. We had a double en-suit ground floor room which was clean, comfortable and had an enormous flat screen television. The owners were lovely...we were late arriving due to the terrible...

The location was superb for a party we attended as a family in the local area. This was the only good thing. The owners made it quite unwelcoming for our party and kept asking us when everyone will be here even though we've told them we're all traveling from different locations. Their grumpy attitude only made us want to avoid...

It's a shame that the owners of this place are so moody! It's a beautiful house with a really nice garden. Rooms were clean, slightly dated, although the shower rooms weren't. My shower was sticky... And an upstairs room taps that a friend was staying in only let out brown water... The owners were quite rude and we felt like...

I stayed here for one night having a meeting the following morning nearby. The fact that it was so close to my meeting was a bonus but aside from that it was not a pleasant experience. It is a large Victorian house and its needs investment, a lot of investment! The bed, the pillows, the curtains, the décor all we're...

I was beginning to dread my stay at this hotel, having read the reviews. To be fair, it wasn't as bad as some suggested, but there is still much that needs improving. Firstly, it is not accurate to describe this as an hotel, which immediately gives it some implied quality and essential pre-requisites. This place should be more appropriately described...

It's location 5 minutes walk from the university campus is one of the very few plus points that I could give the Awentsbury b&b (calling it a hotel is a step too far). That, and the fact that it's quiet and there's plenty of parking. The welcome was decidedly lacklustre, the rooms are tired and shabby, our "ensuite shower" was...

The hotel was very 'tired' and could do with a bit of refurb. Breakfast was nice, but basic. We did not have en suite. But to be fair we paid £57 for the two of us for a Friday night, so it met our needs.

Could be made nice but room was small, basic and rather tatty. Frayed and worn towels and bath-mat, small, badly fitted shower and toilet seat, short kettle lead couldn't reach plug. Plugs were behind cupboards, Smallest, wardrobe ever seen, worn fittings and the carpet.needed a clean. Room was next to front porch where people congregated so their conversations could be heard...

“My tip would be to simply book a different hotel! Or at least check there's a shower in your ensuite.”
  • Hole where the shower had been removed
  • Loose Yale lock
