We are from Wisconsin. My daughter is going to University in Birmingham and lives just down the street from the Gables. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Yes, its older. Yes, its not in perfect shape. The beds were clean and comfortable and changed every day as were the towels. The room was cleaned well. It was reasonably priced and...

We decided to book a hotel for a nite out in bham., Starting off in the mosely area, we thought it would only make sense to get one in this area, so we booked The Gables Hotel. We are young people and aint too fussed bout hotels, BUT this hotel really had a BAD thing going on. The rooms were...

We stayed in the hotel for a couple of nights in May and were more than happy with the service we received. The first impression was that of a warm, friendly environment with staff who were extremely efficient and professional. The food was excellent, we ate in the restaurant both evenings despite visiting friends living in the area. We found...

I am surprised at the other reviews I have found about the hotel on this site but it seems a shame if people only review...

It so wasn't like the picture on the web!!! Hotel must of last been decorated in the early eighties. Tiny en suite with a bathroom suite the colour of...

The hotel room was just about adiquate for the money, however the service and breakfast were far from acceptable. The staff were unfriendly and we obviously put them out when coming down for breakfast (That was included in the price)!! We were sat at an already used table that was dirty, there was only one serving of juice left and...

We were very disappointed with this hotel. We expected a warm welcome but instead were met by a surly atmosphere and felt as though we were inconveniencing the staff merely by being there. Our room was in need of a clean, with stains on the blankets. The bed was rock hard. The waitress in the restaurant was shabbily dressed and...
