I last weekend stayed at this beautiful hotel. I pre booked online and reserved valet car parking at the same time due ease. We turned up at the hotel, within minutes we were checked in and handed over the keys to the car. We were on the 1st floor and the room was absolutely perfect. The room was large enough,...

Really disappointed in this hotel We booked a twin room for 2 nights for £420 so not really a "budget" hotel. On entering the room it was tired and old fashioned and generally unloved. The bathroom was large but badly fitted and no extractor and to open the window mean the offices over the road could see straight in. Beds...

Booked private dining for a birthday celebration. Price included proseco (2 glasses per person) and wine (1/2bottle per person) service was very efficient and friendly. The meal, considering the reputation Hotel Du Vin promote was a disappointment. Portions were very small and the menu was hardly haut cuisine. More like stingy pub grub. Having written that, the cheese board was...

Been here a few times, both to eat and to drink in the bar. Its an up market hotel and bistro, so not for those on a budget although you can get a fixed priced lunch. Food quality is of a high standard. Drinks in the bar are lush, the cocktails aren't cheap (£10 each) but are really good and...

Old eye hospital converted in Hotel du vin style to rooms called after wines, even has old cage lift, bar with a good selection of wines and good bar food. Comfortable clean rooms with traditional bathrooms, Close to cathedral and snow hill with many restaurants, easy walk to centre of town.

Booked in for a romantic weekend in the centre of Birmingham, along with a booking at one of the city's Michelin star restaurants (Two Cats - lovely people, brilliant food). Unfortunately when we arrived at Hotel du Vin the receptionist informed us they'd overbooked and we would be staying elsewhere. She was very apologetic and genuinely a nice person. Her...

No matter how many times I stay here, it makes me smile, relax and feel good about Birmingham. The rooms are special, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast great, tried the Arnold Bennett Omelet, tasty and unusual. Walk in showers, huge comfy bed and spacious rooms, Bubbles Bar..."it's always a joy to stay here.

I stayed at the HdV Birmingham many years ago and following that trip stayed in many more. This recent stay was a good opportunity to check it out again so I was quite excited. Positives first - the public areas are very nicely done. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room service food from the Bistro was fantastic, including...

We spent one night in this charming hotel, it was a homecoming for me because I worked here as a nurse in a previous life as this hotel was once the Birmingham eye hospital. The check in staff were very accommodating and checked us in early as my husband isn't in good health. Our room was very comfortable and the...
